From watching the news this morning I heard the brand Organic Pastures made 3 children sick. Each child from different a city. They dont know if it is E. coli or not so they arent going to pull the milk from shelves just yet.

^Right! I'm going through spinach withdrawl right now. There is no fresh spinach anywhere because of the e-coli thing. Now milk, gesh! Well at least no one has died from it.

You may want to consider buying raw milk. Being that it doesn't go through massive factories where the vast majority of these bacteria/etc are picked up.
Besides, raw milk is easier to digest and if you find it from the right farm, it has natural CLA in it so you won't have to worry about supplementing with pills.
^^^ Really? Venus, you're a nutritionist or something like that, aren't you? Is raw milk actually safe for human consumption? Forgive my ignorance, but I was raised in an antiseptic household where Pasteurization and Antibiotics were revered above all divine powers, and I'm still broadening my horizons.
I looked on the net and didn't see anything about the milk. I also saw CNN mention the spinach again today, but nothing about milk.
Could you post a source?

Apparently it was recalled earlier today. And it was raw unpasteurized milk. Gee, is it time yet to move to the country, farm our own land and raise our own animal products?![]()
^ Wow. But, I do find this statement strange: "While none of the samples of milk have tested positive for E. coli, experts say they have established a link." They couldn't find any bacteria in the milk, so they are saying that the kids got sick off of the milk.
I'm not a nutritionist or anything like that...I just make sure that I am well-informed on my food choices. I think it is extremely important to read up on the good and bad of everything and try what you feel best with. I've made all kinds of changes to my diet...mainly based upon physical condition...and gut intuition. I do read anything and everything I can get my hands on before making a decision though...
The good thing about raw milk is that it contains good/bad bacteria. However, in the process of pasturization/homogenization all of those bacteria are destroyed. CLA is also destroyed (if there was any there to begin with...most Milk Cows are fed "special" feed which is not "normal" to them...and thus they do not get CLA and cannot pass that on). So, anyways, while the milk does contain "bad" bacteria, those bacteria (in conjunction with the good) help balance out the natural flora in the intestines. They also make it easier for the human body to break the milk down in the stomach/intestines ridding, for the most part, lactose/milk product intolerance.
I used to have massive stomach cramps and all that other fun stuff while drinking the "safe" milk, but have had no problems with the raw milk.
