    Default Tokyo again (Oct 06)

I will be in Tokyo a week from now for a stay of a couple of weeks, and just as previously

    http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=66291

I will be spending some time and yen in the Western-style SCs there and will post anything of interest that I notice in this thread. If anyone has anything or any particular place they'd be interested in hearing about, just let me know (by post here or PM), and I'll see what I can do. (Mer-chan, I won't forget what interested you, of course.)

The Japanese economy has (finally...at long last) **begun** to show **some** signs of recovery from its long doldrums. Perhaps the money in Tokyo will begin to improve too, now or soon.

No need to plead mer-chan, just promise that you will stay through March when I expect to be in town again too, and I'll be glad to let you know what I learn about both places. Of course, as a customer I won't be there (much less in both places) on too many different nights, so my info will be limited. However, I do know a couple of people who **might** be willing to tell me something more reliable.

You have my sympathy on having to wait until February. I can hardly stand having to wait until next week and am already dreading having to leave again two weeks later. At least you won't have to leave again almost as soon as you arrive, like me.

    Tokyo ni ikimasho, neh?

^^^I just arrived...reached my hotel a little over 12 hours ago, early Sunday evening here. I woke up at around 5 am Monday morning, the usual jetlag shit that screws up the first few days after crossing the Pacific. I'll bet it is not as bad coming/going from Australia, still a very long flight but not much time change.

Will do, assuming that I get over the jetlag enough to remember how much I enjoy the company and entertainment of scantily clad dancers...and find some time to get over to Roppongi. However, I'll probably only report here on the current situation. If you have been away from the Tokyo scene for a decade and want to catch up on the last few years, there are many SW threads over the last few years that you could read (assuming that you haven't already read them or have otherwise been following the situation). You can search for words like Tokyo, Japan or Roppongi...and mermaidnz and I have contributed at **least** a few posts to almost all of them, so that is another way to track them down if you are interested.

Yeah, be sure to follow sushidoll's advice if you decide to come back to Tokyo. You can't go wrong that way!

    (I'm teasing.)

News Flash - Private Eyes & One-Eyed Jacks have been closed according to two different dancers at Tantra, just a few days ago they said. One of them said that she heard that they will soon open in new locations...but didn't know where.

Tantra was packed to the gills from at least 10pm (when I arrived) on, and it looked to me like $$$ was flowing freely. But the same dancers told me that it had been dead a couple of days earlier.

More details when I am not so drunk and it is not well past 3am.

So, here's a bit more info: It was a quite rainy last night (due to a passing typhoon), but Roppongi seemed to be lively, actually more genki (healthy) than it has seemed for several years...maybe a consequence of the recovering Japanese economy.

I only went to Tantra because I didn't want to walk around in the rain too much, and as I posted above, it was really jammed - had to wait to get a table, wait to get into the private dance area, hard to even attract a waitresses attention they were so busy, almost as many people standing in the aisles as sitting down. Very lively and happy crowd...strong party mood.

Money-wise, it looked like the dancers were doing well to me. I dropped just under US$1000 in about 3 hours, including 10 private dancers, and while the ladies who spent the evening with me seemed happy enough, no one acted like it was unusual. I'd guess that most of the guys were spending a bit less, or more slowly, but that several were spending much more.

It looked to me like there were about 35-40 dancers working and that most of them (30-35?) were with a customer at any given time.

Extras appeared to be at about the usual level for Tokyo clubs, pretty heavy duty by typical US standards...but no obvious outright sex acts.

I haven't been to 7th yet...or even checked for myself to see if the closings the Tantra dancers told me about are correct (but I doubt they would make up such a story, and I know both of them for about a year and am a sort of "occasional regular" of theirs when I am in town. Anyway, Tantra looks pretty good, but if I get back to Roppongi this trip (and I probably will), I'll drop by 7th and see how it looks too.

And, no, the Tantra lap dance area still has only 5 (rather cramped, imo) seats/areas; I agree it definitely needs to be bigger.

Yeah, it was about the best (most healthy/successful) feeling SC atmosphere I have encountered in years; my hair (what's left of it) was blown back pretty well. However, if you are imagining coming here to work, you obviously ought to do some more homework/investigation before you decide (or buy tickets) for sure. I see it only through a customer perspective and could easily be missing important problems and downsides, PLUS it was only one particular night in one particular club. MIght have been a atypical fluke for all I know.

I am back from Japan. The trip got VERY busy, with business and fun, and I only got back to Roppongi once more, on a Saturday night. I dropped by 7th Heaven fairly early (maybe 9-10 PM) on a Saturday night, but it looked so dead that I decided not to pay the cover charge...so only got a glimpse from the door. I know that this probably doesn't mean too much by itself, but fwiiw, Tantra looks a lot busier to me these days. Of course it is busier with dancers as well as customers, so there are competition issues too.

I plan to be back to Tokyo in March.

Definitely! I just PM'd you my Tokyo mobile phone number, and there is plenty of time to plan before then. I'll probably be there for roughly the middle half of March...can't do the whole month this time, unfortunately.

Overall I had a totally super great, expensive, exhausting, not-to-be-forgotten rush of a time. In other words, a typical trip to Tokyo. I've never had a bad time there. Just not enough time to do everything I wanted to do with all of the people I wanted to do them with.

Re your asian background - well yeah, there are lots of asian women in Tokyo (duh!), but many of them seem to do very well in the SCs too. So, I wouldn't let that stop you. And you would probably be a fave of a lot of the foreign customers because you speak fluent English; a lot of guys want to hang with an asian babe on their trip(s) to asia but have trouble with language barriers in most cases.
