Hi! I'm slashingbeauty, I used to come on here alot years ago, but I haven't been back in awhile--busy with school and work. I hope everyone's well, and I have a small favor to ask the ladies of stripperweb:
I am working on a research paper for an English course. My broad topic was, "Should exotic dancing be considered a "normal" job, or continue to be a social taboo?" I have refined the topic to (although I haven't figured out how to word it yet) focus on why dancers and gentlemen's clubs have such difficulty getting their business to be considered a "normal" job. i.e. No paychecks or insurance for most dancers at most businesses, city ordinances, inane charges against gentlemen's clubs. We all know it happens, but I need some sources to cite for this paper.
I am looking for books, articles, webcasts, documentaries, interviews etc., that will support the fact that it is difficult for dancers to have their profession be considered a "normal" occupation. If anyone has any suggestions, can you please comment this thread? I will come back and check it as often as I can. I would appreciate any help at all. It can't be an opinion paper, so it's got to be printed, somewhere. Internet or otherwise, as long as it's a credible source.
Thank you so, so much to anyone who can assist me!![]()
