    Default Fish Oil

So I accidently bought some fish oil vitamins at the store the other day(I think someone put it in the wrong cart). I figured since I have it now I will start taking it. Does anyone know what the benifits of taking fish oil are?

Helps joints and sore muscles, good for skin, also good for memory, and even helps with depression. Reduces cholesterol. Not sure what else. It's good stuff.

    *edit* here's some info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fish_oil

Fish oil is good for you but, you have to be careful what type you buy. Some have high mercury content.

Mercury is in the water & the concentration varies from region to region. If you purchased Nordic fish oil or if it says its been tested you should be fine. If not I'd take it back and get a better quality oil.

You need to take 3000 mg for it to have an effect on your cholesterol. It can give you GI side effects. If so, freeze them before taking them. Somehow, it cuts down on all the gi upset.

I do not believe this is totally true. Lab tested only means that it could have traces of mercury that won't cause "too many" problems. Your best bet is doing some online research and finding a company that stands behind their product as being mercury-free (not all fish oils are mercury-free, even if the bottle says lab tested).

I use either Dr.Sears or Health from the Sun..Both claim to be 3rd party tested. Please tell me which fish oil you think is best to take.
