Default Having second thoughts about my surgeon!

Alright so here's the thing. I'm getting breast implants. I set up a consultation (with dr. lettieri) on the 4th of October.

    All is good right?

    No.

I started just browsing photos of implants again and now I see Dr. Dewire and his look very good. He's also in state, unlike Lettieri. Now I'm getting really nervous because I'm starting to get second thoughts on who I should go to.

Is it just me second guessing myself needlessly due to nerves regarding impending implant surgery? Or should I be reevaluating who I should go to?

Go see and talk to both doctors or more. Settle on one you are most comfortable with and whose work you like best. This is a big deal so you want it done right!

Your choice of surgeon is VERY important. Go to as many consultations as you can. Go to Dr. Letteri's, and set up one with Dewire too, and see which one you like better. Don't rush your decision! I rushed my surgery because I wanted to have it done at the beginning of my spring break, which was only a week long. I wish I'd had more consultations, but I just went with a surgeon one of my friends recommended.

    Take your time!

    Doubt = Don’t!!!

Always go with your instincts hun, if you are having second thought’s then it is for a reason and means that your are obviously not prepared enough. Take your time and do some research, arrange more consultations with different PS, gather patient opinions and recommendations before settling on just one thing!

    Gook luck!

    Seraya.

If this is just for the consultation, go ahead and see both of them. I'd also suggest you see at least a couple more. Pick the one you think will do the best job. Not the one you like best, but the one you think will give you the best tits!

Nothing wrong with postponing...you could always reshedule an appointment, but once you have the surgery, the only way out is more surgery. i agree with the others...explore all your options and don't go through with it until you're sure it's what you want.

yes, he did mine. It was $6800 for saline back in Feb. He doesn't like doing silicone but I know he has.

^^^ totally go to Dewire; as soon as I saw his name in your first post I thought "Hey, isn't that the guy who did Emily's breasts, which are wondrous?"

I still wouldn't ONLY consult with one doctor. You should consult with several before making the decision on who you're going to pay to cut you open and install foreign objects in your body.

it's cool...I've already posted a few pictures, so what's a couple more? I jsut took these this morning. Keep in mind I also got a Benelli lift (and then a scar revision on my right nipple because I had a reaction to the suture...which he fixed at no additional charge), which is why I have a scar around my entire nipple. The implant went in through the armpit. They are super soft too. I'm very happy. And I added a "before" too....ugh! And thanks susan!

I originally started looking into Dewire because of post #3 on this thread http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28071 (it's dead on) and because he's like a legend on other breast implant forums.

^^ Im going to have to steal your abs Emily. hehehe Your post surgery boobies and scars are looking really well.

Im a bit different here. I went to one surgeon b/c I had seen alot of pairs on the girls I work with. All of them werent too big and everyones incisions still looked great. I still asked the standard questions and asked about his credentials. If I hadnt seen my coworkers boobs and they hadent spoken so highly of him then I would have been on different consults.

actually, I only went on one consult too...*shame*. I actually asked a couple of girls who had boobs I liked and they named the same local doctor. But then in the name of research, I asked girls who I thought had bad boobs where they got theirs done and many said the same doctor! So that method didn't really work for me.

And thanks for the compliment. I'm not that thrilled with my abs, but a huge improvement since I started seeing a personal trainer. I still want to get something less squishy going on down there.

You said that you have a CONSULTATION on October 4th? As in, a visit to be checked out by the doctor and discuss surgery, but not the actual surgery itself? You're fine...you have plenty of time. I think you should keep your consultation with the first surgeon, but also schedule a consultation with the second surgeon so you can compare them. If the first surgeon charges money per consultation(most do not, but some do), then maybe it's best to reschedule until after you meet with the second surgeon, and then if you still have a bit of an interest in going with the first surgeon, then schedule a consultation to further compare and think it over. And as others said, it's very easy to reschedule consultations, or even surgery.

With my surgeon, consultations were free but after you set up a date for the surgery, you had to pay a $500 deposit to cover the required hospital lab tests(they would send you to the nearby hospital to test for AIDS, severe anemia, bloodbourne disesaes, and pregnancy so they would determine if it was safe to operate on you or not). If you failed the lab tests or cancelled the surgery, at that point you would get all your money back except the $500 deposit. But if you simply resceheduled a little further down the line, that $500 deposit would still apply towards the surgery. A friend of mine did that when she went to the same surgeon, she must have postponed it 3 times or so! I don't know how long those hospital lab tests would apply though, because if you waited a year I think they'd require you to get retested and thus pay at least a portion of the $500 again to cover hospital lab costs. But every doctor is different, so it's always good to ask lots of questions. Good luck!

You should see a MINIMUM of three doctors for a consultation for any kind of surgery- plastic or medical!!!!!

Even if you are only interested in two, see three.

Get a third consult with another doctor, too. Even if you're not interested in that doctor. It sounds like over precaution, but it's not.

It's like crossing the street. Looking both ways is pretty safe. But you'll be safer if you take a third glance back in that first direction you looked...
