    Default San Franciscans...

Please give me the low down...is it overcast there everyday? I don't need continuous blue skies but i can't handle the heavy grey depressing kinda weather(like here in europe). I've done a google search, and it tells me that there is still plenty of blue clear days to be had in San Francisco but tonight i spoke to these guys from LA, and they told me that the weather sucks there.
Please Help!...I will totally appreciate all opinions.

I just got back from San Fran yesterday and the weather was PERFECT the whole time I was there. Blue skies, sunshine and good vibes.
This time of year has the best weather.

I lived there for a year and there were mostly sunny days and chilly nights. I loved the weather there. It does get foggy but it's not depressing. In my opinion, San Francisco is the happiest place on earth. I find it impossible to feel sad there.
In the winter it rains but not more than any other place. Winter there feels like fall here.
It's a beautiful city and I'm hoping to move back sometime next year.
Are you visiting Mischa or moving there?

We're thinking about moving there. We've been there a couple of times. We got married there. We love the city. I'm just so over the greyness of Amsterdam. It's just that tonight some guys from LA were ragging on the weather there and it scared me. I need my blue skies. I'm fine with cold, i'm fine with rain....i just can't handle overcast skies for days on end. It messes with my emotional stability! I'm just a little worried.
I'm glad you enjoyed your time there Magdalena xx

It really depends on what part of SF that you live-in or outside of the city.

Rainy season is pretty much from Dec. to mid-March. There'll be some sunny days, but will mostly be gray.

In SF, during the summer there'll always be fog, but it'll typically burn off by 11am. As Magdalena mentioned, mid-Sept to mid-Oct is the warmest/sunniest time of the year for SF proper itself.

If you live outside of the city like even 15 minutes outside of SF then it'll be pretty warm all summer long.

I sent you a response on MySpace.

If those guys were actually from Los Angeles, ignore them. There is a huge rivalry between Angelinos and people from "The City," and a lot of SoCal natives can't handle actual weather. Lots of people carry on and on about "the beautiful weather" in SoCal, but the fact is that there is NO weather in SoCal. San Francisco is much more beautiful and an all-around pleasant, happy place to be. It also happens to be insanely expensive, unfortunately, but at least you get what you pay for.

I'd live there in a heartbeat if I could afford it. If you have that opportunity, go for it!

I was in San Francisco last April & it was lovely bright weather. It fogged up the day I left, but it was part of a weather pattern, not some constant gloom.
I've been offered a job there as soon as I finish school, so I'd be happy to live there.

One of the reasons I'm so glad I don't live there anymore is the weather! Ugh, nothing brings me down more than fog, rain, cloudy skies. Plus, you have micro-climates all over the City, which means that it can be warm and sunny one minute, and cold and overcast the next. Yuck. I'll take my 115 degree days all year round here in Phoenix if I had to, just to be out of the San Francisco weather. But I lived in the city. It's lovely everywhere else once you're south of, say, San Bruno.

The upside of SF weather is that when it's nice, it's absolutely fucking outstandingly BEAUTIFUL.

I can handle wind, rain, cold and shifting fog. I just can't handle endless drab grey days. If the weather is doing something, that's all good. It's just when it sits there like a big grey lump that it starts to get to me.
Thanking you all It's always best to hear from peoples own experiences. The weather graphs just don't lend enough information.

If you want lots of sunshine you should come to Albuquerque. We have nearly 300 sunny days a year

Here is some more info on ABQ in case you have never been here

S.F. is one of my favorite cities to visit but it is sooooo expensive to buy a house there and renting isn't much better.

I am in San Francisco right now and I am dreading going back to Scottsdale where it is 101 degrees. It's a little cool and overcast today but the last 2 days were beautiful and sunny for most of the day. It does get chilly at night but thats fine with me because I've had enough sunshine and heat to last the rest of my days.

And, you didn't even stop by!

San Francisco (bay area, in general) seem to get pretty spoiled by their weather. They complain incesently about being either too hot or too cold after they move to Sacramento (I'm not sure why they keep moving here, unless they really just like moving to new areas to drive up housing prices).
"He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"

I have to agree with you on that one. I do LOVE the City, I just need sunshine pretty much everyday of my life, or else my mental health starts to suffer...

I'm coming up there on Monday for a visit with my BEST FRIEND and to work in the City...need a change of pace!
