    Default Aquarium advice.. Ghost Knives.

These are awesome fucking fish, they are all one big fin that they just maneuver all over the place. They are cool looking, just nifty fish. Trouble is i don't know what and how much to feed them! I have some freeze dried bloodworm, but does anyone know how and how much to give?

My angels and Red Tails eat it too... I want to make sure my Ghost Knife gets some food... I've got some african frogs in there too and they eat the bloodworm too. I've taken to feeding the bloodworm when the lights are out since Ghost Knives are like bats and like dark.

Also, are there any eels that live in freshwater? I'd love an eel. I'm just kinda excited, it's a new hobby that i'm kinda taking to.

Anyone have any ideas for neat fish that can live in a, like, 55 gallon tank? I may buy another, bigger, one. I intend on getting a small tank i can put crawdads (freshwater lobster, some ppl call them crayfish) in and use feeder guppies. Hell, when i was a kid i caught and cooked enough of them, might as well get to know them as a species.

This is, i must admit, an addictive little hobby. How many tanks must i get before i am satiated... I'm even considering cultivating brine shrimp, Sea Monkeys, as feeder stuff in an old goldfish bowl (I think i last had sea monkeys as a pre 10 year old).

Wow, I love Ghost fish - I have only ever seen one once, they are just amazing to look at!!!

Mexican walking fish are pretty cool too, they seem to be pretty popular here.

    .....

Actually it's a haunted aquarium that has a mind of it's own. It seems to want gothic exotic dancers to ravish it's owner.... Hey it's bigger than me. I'm, possessed...

Fish guy here. Ghost Knives are pretty cool, I've kept them before. Make sure to give them a nice hidey spot, just a piece of PVC or something will do. One way to get the bloodworms directly to them is to use a feeding tube. This is just any type of tube that you can drop food in and move directly to where theyre at. Everyone will eat them though, maybe just give them a bit more. I'm about to feed my fishies some frozen bloodworms right now, they go nuts. There are freshwater eels, yes. Depends on what kind you are looking for. The most common for home aquariums are peacock eels, tiretrack eels, and fire eels. Peacocks are amusing and dont get too huge. Tiretracks get pretty big, and fire eels get ginormous. There are also freshwater morays, and there's one called a different name each of the few times I have seen it that was all silver and pretty nifty. I know thats not helpful...i think once it was called an american eel, and another time a sargasso eel or something. Most eels will eat fish. So will your clawed frogs if they can catch them and fit them in their mouths. Salamanders...I suppose you could keep one in a tank but they tend to be less aquatic than newts. I kept a whole tank of newts once, it was my "newtist colony", heh. They're easy and fun and there are a bunch of varieties and you can keep firebelly toads with them. I'd recommend a seperate tank though. Pieces of cork bark or pre-made little island floaty thingees are all they really need, but the water level has to be fairly low or they escape and you find little carpet covered newts dried out behind furniture or in your cats mouth later.

There are all sorts of nifty fish that you can keep with what you have mentioned. Keep in mind though, andgelfish get pretty large, as do red tailed sharks (though it takes them awhile) so don't overcrowd the tank too much.Have you seen an elephant nose? They're kinda like a ghost, same color scheme but without the groovy fin....instead they have a little trunk. There are other knives as well, but most get really large and eat other fish too. I have always liked butterfly fish. They stay at the top of the tank, and look kinda boring until you look at them from below. the top of their body is flat, so they stay at the surface but from below they have amazing butterfly-like wings. Hence the name. I'm a big clown loach fan, too, but you need several of those (I have 7) because they like to hang out together. Google some of those and if you have any other ?'s just lemme know.

Here, this site has pics of tons of different fish and blurbs about each of them. Enjoy.

"He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!"

My ex bf had newts and tried to keep a salamander in with them. He was miserable and had to be given back to the store. Apparently they prefer to be in moist soil. Newts make pretty cool pets and even have some personality to them. They do fine in a tank with nonagressive fish.

Newts and salamanders are different. Newts are semi-aquatic and salamanders it depends on what you have. Some are terrestrial, some aquatic and some are semi. If you're going to add amphibeans of any type make sure and do research before you buy them. Some have very specific needs and they can have very different needs than tropical fishies. Also be very careful if you have to handle them, thier skin is very sensative and any trace crap like hand soaps or lotions can be toxic to them as can be the naturally occuring oils etc on your skin.
