    Default customers and endearments

I don't use a lot of pet names in real life -- "honey" and "baby" and so on -- and I feel weird using them with customers. Face-to-face it's not so bad, but in e-mails, using pet names sounds transparently false to me. Do you use pet names with customers? Do you think it's something they like and expect?

I'm so guilty of this it's not even funny. All men in the club are "sweetie, darlin, baby, stud muffin, ..." etc. until I have learned their proper name. I can't help it, I even catch myself as the guy is walking away after tipping e, thinking, "WTF you sound like a waitress at IHOP"
    oh well.
I am pretty good at remembering names though, so I guess it spares me some of the corniness at least w/ my regs.

Yeah I do it in the club but outside of it i would die of embarassment. It took me over a year of dancing before i got used to it though.

Oh yeah I use pet names all the time as I generally have a photographic memory but when you meet so many people it's hard for me to remember all of their names.

Honey, baby, sweetie, darlin, sugar, babydoll, sweetheart..... all of the above, all the time.

But then again, I'm an Oklahoma girl.

All the time!!! I don't know if they like it or not but it's something I do. When I was a stripclub junkie, I would love it when a dancer would say "baby or sweetie" to me, I was so stupid to believe she meant it! Aaahhh, what a wake up call it has been for me now that I've become a dancer! lol

    Just call them "custy"

    "Hi custy, how're you? Wannadance?"

    They like that.

Well, I'm pretty good at remembering names and I usually just use those, so it's not like I'm calling them "you" or nothing at all. If I've only met someone once before and can't remember their name, I just ask them to remind me. They usually understand that I meet a lot of people and have to learn a lot of names. I don't know, sometimes I think remembering someone's real name is enough of an endearment, but I wonder if they want to be called this stuff. Seems like the concensus is yes?
