    Default Bad stuff

I mean like seeing drugs, rape etc...getting harrassed sexually by other staff/patrons..

Have u seen it and how much does it affect u?

I am a really clean girl not into drugs, but I am worldly and considering the profession because I am attractive and flirty and I dance and interact well with men- so I think I would be making a good financial decision here. Not for the drugs or because I am desperate for cash. I'm just wondering is the industry really that bad?

I hope this doesn't offend anyone. I am going in with an open mind but really don't know what to expect. What's 'normal' at your club??

All depends on where you go, what your tolerance for certain things are, etc.

not true. your head can be on straight and get knocked right into oblivion by this industry. its pitfalls (some of them) are unique to the work and have/will derail many a 'together' woman.

    ^^^ Aint that the truth.
I've seen alllot of bad shit. Then again, i think that's due to the area in which i chose to work. Yep i'm jaded. Though even that has some benefits.

As long as you set your personal limits and goals, then stick to them, you'll be fine. I've seen a few girls get sucked into drugs, but the biggest pitfalls that most gals fall into is the shitty, unemployeed BF, or spend $$$ as fast as you can make it.

Just don't get sucked into the "lifesyle" and you'll be fine. I'd say 95% of the girls at my club are into one kind of drug or another, but there are some of us that aren't and we just all hang together. If you can find some like-minded people, you'll be fine.

You will see everything form dancers who have masters degrees and totally clean and sober lives to really screwed up addicts. You will overhear shit you wish you hadn't and you will over hear things that remind that even brilliant women take off their clothes for money. Especially brilliant women. Just keep your own head clear and you'll be fine.

^^ Not if you do not flirt back nor give them any non-verbal clues that you want them to flirt with you. If you keep the relationship professional and friendly, they will do the same. I have only experienced "harassment" from the male staff (ie bouncers usually) that I wanted to receive it from as such. As in I was flirting with them, and they flirted back.

It does happen from time to time. Some guys think that because they work in a strip club, normal professional behavior isnt expected. If a staff member harrasses you..and wont back off..Tell the manager, owner etc....if nothing is done...move clubs. I've seen a bunch of guys get fired for that. They are there to protect you and enforce the rules NOT add to your stress. We put up with enough crap from customers...we should NOT out up with it from staff. I let them know up front that I am married and will NEVER be interested.

Now I'm far from a prude....I flirt and joke around with the bouncers, managers...hell even the waitresses(that does get me extra money though if done in front of custies...:-)Flirting and joking is all fine and fun...but actual unwanted harassement is NOT acceptable. We had one manager..18 yrs old(that alone should say something) who would grab on the girls, come into the dressing room and take pictures with his camera phone, tell the girls he wanted to have sex with them and videotape it..and he wasnt kidding. Yeah..he was fired real quick. Basically..any behavior they wouldnt tolerate from a customer..they should not be doing to you. in fact...they should know better since they are used to the strip club environmemt..and should be held to a higher standard.
People always ask me, did I ever learn anything when I was a stripper? Yeah, I did. One man plus two beers equals 20 dollars.

Usually the male staff members will be very professional. Don't date anyone that works in the club and a lot of the drama can be avoided.

So many times the dancers will date guys that work for the club (or the owners) and that just causes drama down the road.

Really naughty flirting is common. If you aren't comfortable with other dancers spanking you or whatever, then you should just stay aloof. I have a habit of untying bikini tops randomly. But only with the girls I'm friendly with. The guys won't normally try anything like that unless they KNOW that you are comfortable with that kind of playing around.

As far as rape or drugs, not noticed it in the kind of clubs I've worked at. I'm sure that rape is more likely to happen in the kindof clubs that have little rooms with locking doors for private dances. Drugs are everywhere, you can't really avoid it, but most people are very discreet. It will be a while before the drug users will be comfortable enough to use in fromt of you blatenetly.

I second that. It all comes down to character. No one is exempt, but I suppose the strong do survive...

The girls have it all right. Location is key, go somewhere shady, you'll run into more shady things, not saying the higher end clubs don't have it...but it's all in the levels. Don't flirt, and go to work to work, and the bouncers won't hit on you (usually). The club I am at, if it comes to light that you are dating an employee they ask one of you to stop working there...kinda sh*tty, but I see why they do it.

Honestly...I have been dancing for almost 4 years, started at a REAL BAD club and moved up from there....I steered away form the drugs when I saw them around, and I kept a friendly but professional attitude with other co-workers, I've never had a problem. (knock on wood)

    Good Luck to you!
