    Default "Down There" Surgery

Thinking about getting my labia shortened just a tad... What's the procedure called? How much generally is it? Healing time? Scarring?

There was a post on this before. Why do you want to go get a surgery like that done? Someone posted a link to a site where they showed all different types of women's vaginas. All different shapes, sized, colors...

I'll try to find the link for you.

Ah.. yeh... isn't this sort of surgery just a clear waste of money ? There is no real reason for you to have it IMO. Vaginas are definately not meant to come in the one shape and size.......and believe me... it is you and only you who has a problem with it. Guys love pussy no matter what it looks like... they're just glad to see it!

There isn't such a thing as an ugly vagina. A vagina is a vagina. Who cares what it looks like? it is yours and no one else has kinda the exact same vagina as you (as we all do have slight variations on the same theme as such).

If you have money burning a hole in your pocket, give it to me. At least it won't go to waste then

my aunt got this done because her's were (according to her) too long and it was uncomfortable and sometimes painful while exercising, bike riding and even when having sex. Because it was medically necessary, it was covered by her husband's medical insurance. It's called a labiaplasty, I believe. I odn't know what the out-of-pocket cost would have been, but I don't think it took a long time to recover. We didn't talk about it in great detail or anything.

Are you interested in this for medical purposes, or cosmetic? If cosmetic, I wouldn't waste the time or the money. My labia are kinda long, but I've never had complaints!

I think unless it's really interferring with your movement/clothes or something, you're best learning to appreciate it's uniqueness. Long labia are hot.

I could never imagine doing that even if they were hanging halfway to my knees unless maybe if I had a cancer growing there. There's a huge concentration of nerve endings in the labia, especially the inner ones. You may risk losing significant sensitivity down there.

Uh, I'm seriously considering it because my gyno thought it had a lot to do with why I can't seem to have an orgasm or get much sensation? Because the clit is too covered by skin..'hooded' so that it can't be reached. There is just 'redundant' skin from the labia that pulls it all down. She said that the part that is removed is not in fact very nerve filled (I feel nothing by it). And it does get stuck and pull in clothes. Ow, and pinching is annoying.

But really i'd recommend going to someone who is very familiar with the surgery. The guy I had a consultation with is Dr. Stubbs in Toronto, and he's internationally recognized for this particular procedure. I'm probably getting it done this winter...it's $4000 Canadian for what I want. I really stress getting a good surgeon (obviously), because while gynos say they can do it, most don't do it often and can do a bit of a hatchet job. Even though it's kinda medical rather than aesthetic, plastic surgeons are more practiced in this kind of work.

Breasts are also meant to come in all natural shapes and sizes. Doesn't mean we all don't want something different. I HIGHLY doubt that's what's preventing you from reaching orgasm though. But if it's what you want, go for it!

Theoretically, all plastic surgery is a "waste of money", but if it improves your self image, then isn't that the point? While her partner might not care, if it inhibits her enjoyment of sex, and a simple surgery can make her feel better and enjoy sex more...hell yeah it's worth it!

A mirror is always a waste, until it shows you what you want to see

Thanks Emily! I dunno. I'm happy with my breasts, but not this...it does seem to be an issue. So why not? It'll make me happy. I've brought this up before, and it's an issue that always seems to get more friction than BAs, but I don't see the difference. Each to her own

It might be an idea to thourougly check out the procedure from other sources and find out what percentage of women have sucess with the orgasm thing post surgery. You may not think it's worth the $ if the success rate is very low. I have read about a type of surgery around the clitoris (not labiaplasty) which "increased womens ability to have orgasms" and basically it made no differeance or in some cases worsened the sensation which is why Im mentioning it. Im just sort of thinking (a) maybe there'd be cheaper easier alternatives to increase clitoral sensitivity and (b) That orgasms arnt always centred around the clitoris btw
But yeah if my labia kept ketting stuck in clothes and stuff, Id probably want to chop it too!
