still...its kinda weird. affirmations for being rich.seriously!? guess its just not my thinghaha
^^^ Oops I just edited my other post, lol.
Yeah I thought some of it was sorts "big wank" if you know what I mean, but other parts I liked. My clairvoiant spoke of something simular once, something about there being more than enought money in the world for everyone to live comfortably, but having to figure out ways to get enough of it. Although I knew what she meant and the above video too, the skeptical side of me still is saying, yeah thats all very welll and good for us in the west, but for the millions born into and surrounded by poverty telling people to think positivly sounds a touch patronising...
Fuck affirmations. How about living below your means and prudent, long-term investing?
That's not sexy though.
"She has written so well, and marvellously well, that I was completely ashamed of myself as a writer...But this girl, who is to my knowledge very unpleasant and we might even say a high-grade bitch, can write rings around all of us who consider ourselves as writers"

Kinda along the same lines however actually more "logical" ...

It has changed and expanded ALOT since I first came across it waaay back "last century". I bought her eBook and it had alot of good practical ways to overcome "lack consciousness". I believe in it as I have seen it work in my life and in the lives of others.
There is such a thing as living within prosperity consciousness and "lack" consciousness. It takes alot of work to overcome the obstacles (psychological ones).

Its from the video called "The Secret". Its about the Universal Laws of Attraction. What you think about you bring about, positive or negative. The movie really focuses on the power of the mind and thoughts. If you are not happy with where you are at this moment, then change your thoughts.
Its actually very good. When you FEEL good about the things in your life, you get more of that...when you FEEL bad about the things in your life, you get more of that. The things that you focus on are what you attract to you. Like attracts like: if you believe that money is hard to come by or that being rich makes you "bad", then you will never attain the wealth that you so want because your FEELINGS about being rich or wealthy are negative. However, if you change your thinking to positive thoughts on money, then you will be able to attract the wealthy lifestyle you want. Its all about you frame of mind.
I can tell you it works. Its a lot of work, but it does work.

I didn't write it, but it holds true IMO. I think 'poor' refers to state of mind also.
Think rich. Be richwhatever that means.
Why shouldn't one have a healthy respect for money?

I have a wonderful family! I clip coupons ! I eat at home ! I watch the sales adds ! I post on SW ! I woke to the smell of coffee! I'm RICH !![]()

Agreed. I've been trying to explain the "like attracts like" theory to people for a while and they just don't get it. It's effective for so many facets of your life. I'm in a great realationship with a wonderful person, I'm financially satisfied, my relationships with friends and family is awesome, and people treat me respectfully because that's I believe (and visualize) that I am: a person worthy and capabable of possesing those things.Originally Posted by VenusGoddess
Rich means different things to different people.
Wealth is a social endeavor - many try to make it a system - an abstraction - in the end, it is someone taking money out of their wallet and putting it into your hand. It is a social thing as much as it is a spreadsheet thing.

VG, BINGO! BINGO! BINGO! I knew "someone" would get it.Originally Posted by VenusGoddess
I guess some just have different ways of thinking.
The video clip IS just an affirmation tool used in this system of beliefs that date back centuries. Philosophers and teachers of past and current include, Gandhi, Beethoven, Plato, Newton, Beethoven, John Gray (author -- men are from Mars, Women from Venus), Jack Canfield (author - Chicken Soup of the Soul), many, many more.
They have just released a full length feature movie that discuss how the system of beliefs and "way of thinking" can transform your life...health, relationships, and yes, affluency. It's really quite fascinating.
PM for the website if interested.

i used to believe money was the best thing ever -i had a money hungry attitude years ago.i read all the books on wealth,i poured hours into each one highlighting and bringing out the main points, anything to make me rich in the future.Originally Posted by MishaBliss
i soon learnt i was already rich. wealth is nothing when you have no one to share it with, laughter is rich. i appreciate what i have, i know the are people worse off then myself, i know that having a roof over my head and eating daily meals makes me rich.i guess im grateful for what i have every day i wake up.
i dont see how being wealthy would seriously make me happy. if i won lotto 95percent would go straight to the poeple who need it.
i think that video clip is beyond wanky. its a typical 1st world "money is the greatest and i have it" type thing. i see it as greed. but yeah whatever works for you![]()

Being happy is a result of positive thoughts...its seeing something that you do not want, but not focus on...instead focusing on something "better" coming along. Its not to say that "wealthy" people do not have problems, the difference is that wealthy people (and I use wealthy to encompass the whole package...money, love, health) don't FOCUS on the "bad" stuff. There is a difference between acknowledging a problem and letting that problem consume your every thought and emotion.Originally Posted by mermaidnz

i dont think of wealth as having anything to do with financial gains.its about all the other bits to life.
just cos someone doesnt focus theur life on money, doesnt mean they arent happy. i guess in order to realise4 life aint so shit, is to see the good in what i have, i dont feel the need to spend my life trying to obtain more money. i dunno. im just ranting now...ha and that other message i wrote earlier was typed out at 4am before i ran out the door for a flight. i was grumpy![]()
