How suspenseful!!!

I can guess already: don't go there!

Ohhhh Scarlett..do tell please...
Man, and to think I was gonna go there. I guess there was a reason why I caught that Flu. There is a reason for everything.
Some Douchebag: "[Pimp C] 12:43 am: its true we got to stick together the black people on SW CK you is teh condoleeza of SW"

Beaumont is ghetto and the connecting town Vidor, is Ku Klux Klan territory. I have been in 2 clubs there. Yuch!

Sheesh, now I'm really glad I didn't go. Tina, you would've had to bail me out had I went down there!!Originally Posted by Tina

Ok, here it is. I might have left some stuff out- just ask. Also, if it' isn't clear, I DO actually recommend the club and going through Janet, but ONLY IF you are comfortable dealing with the environment as described.
1. Beaumont sucks. I don't think anyone can possibly disagree with this statement. It is an ugly town with lots of issues, and probably on the whole one of the more depressing places I've ever visited. But I wasn't here to sightsee- I came to work at the 'World Famous Gold Club'!
2. First, I'll say the money potential would probably satisfy a lot of people, and since the cost of living is low here, is probably great for the local girls. I averaged a little over $500 a night net; some $300 nights, some $800 nights. $800 is around the ceiling, barring unusual circumstances. A smoking ban was instituted on Aug 1st 2006, and business dropped off considerably, apparently. I don't know if it will pick up, as neighbouring counties don't have the ban. Guys here smoke a lot, and seem to really resent going outside.
3. The management here is incompetent. They lost my champagne room money several times, and once I had to wait 'til the next day to collect, and even then, the manager pulled the money from his pocket and said "we can't find it, so to keep you from whining and pissing I have to pay you out of pocket-- this is my rent money". I was appalled. First, how tacky. Second, I never whined about anything, I was very patient and nice outwardly, even though I was spitting venom on the inside. And third, like it's my problem you can't keep track of the money! Let me hold on to it and pay you out at the end of the night- at least then it would get done properly.
4. Being a chain club, they sodomize the girls with fees. 40% of champagne room money, 33% of private dance money, 50% of 'promo' money (I'll get to this), plus a floor fee (waived for girls through Janet) goes to the club. After tip outs, you basically leave with 55-60% of what you earned. Which is unaccptable in my eyes- I was told something completely different when I booked the trip (no fees at all), otherwise I would never have come. Janet has since changed and updated her site to reflect how it actually is.
5. Promos done every hour, whereby all the girls parade on stage to 'Oh Yeah' by Mello Yello, then spread out trying to sell '2 for 1' dances to the customers, with a bonus porno DVD giveaway. If customer accepts, you dance for 2 songs, charge $40, and keep $20. Done once an hour. Very annoying. Although usually an easier sell than regular dances. In my last several days, the owner instituted a rule that if you don't sell 4 promos Tues-Sat, and 3 each on Sun and Mon, you are liable for the amount you didn't sell. I never had a problem, but a lot of girls did. I think it's a shitty rule, since the promo is already just a lame money grab for the club. They are supposed to cut each song during the promo to 2:30, but one DJ in particular never did. He always played 'Give it Away' all the way through, and I KNOW that song is over 5 minutes.
6. The good thing about this place is you can make a basic amount with almost no effort. Promos, plus drink commission ($4 for every fake shot), plus stage tips (not much, usually $10-20/set) probably equals a $200 night any night. If you're bored and not getting anywhere with custies, there are two cages you can dance in, and guys will tip you while you're in them.
7. The girls here are mostly great, with a few exceptions. Admittedly, my snob-ass attitude didn't make me any friends, but overall the girls tried really hard to make me feel good, which is nice since I wasn't overly friendly, and was 'taking all their money' (lol).
8. Customers here LOVE the 'maybe later' game. I've worked in 30 or 40 odd clubs, and have never seen so many guys say this. What's the deal? For girls that have to deal with this regularly, omg I feel for you. I just wanted to punch them after a while- grow a pair and just say 'no', you pussy!
9. Contact is low. Or low to medium, depending on what floor person is working. Considering proximity to Houston, it's pretty miraculous, actually. The official stance is that only one way contact is allowed, but most girls allow guys to touch hips. Can definitely get by with zero contact if you wish to, though.
10. Overall, recommended IF you can handle the small town atmosphere and small club bullshit. I won't be returning- that has 20% to do with the money, 30% to do with the city/clientele, and 50% to do with the crappy way the club is run.
15-20 girls a night, most are 6's or 7's, a sprinkling of 8's and 9's. VIP dances $30, dancer keeps $20. Champagne room $200/half hour, $400/hour, dancer keeps $120 and $240.
Hope this helps someone!

Oh yeah...there is one WOC at the Gold Club, and she got transferred from a club an hour away (in Louisiana) because 'they already had a black girl'.Sheesh, now I'm really glad I didn't go. Tina, you would've had to bail me out had I went down there!!

Scarlett, you are the wonder stripper. I would have been sooo pissy at at place like that. I can't believe how much money they take from dancers! Sheesh!
Thanks for reminding me why I hate East Texas.
No kidding. Tell me the rest of Texas isn't like that, because I'm scared of ever going back at this point. It felt surreal. Another travelling girl said she thought that the people on Jerry Springer were actors until she went to Beaumont...

No, it's not all the same. Every part of Texas is a little different, although I can't lie we do have our share of candidates for Jerry Springer. But really every state has this.
The metropolitan areas of the state are actually quite nice in my opinion. Houston has a bad rep for clubs, but it does have a lot of great restaurants, museums, shopping, and a nice music scene. Same thing for Austin. Dallas, and San Antonio. There are other cool little towns.
East Texas is depressing to me. Maybe it's something to do with Huntsville, and all the racist crap in other towns that someone already mentioned. that's why some refer to this region of the state as "The pine curtain"

A girl I danced with said she had a great time dancing in Corpus Christi? That was a while back and she is a coke head, but a sweet girl nonetheless who'd have no reason to lie. But maybe she just liked the beaches. Anyways, I have a friend over there so I thought if I went anywhere south for a while, it'd be Corpus.
I think I'd like to try Austin. The guys I met from Austin were all good, and really I've just never heard anything bad about it.

Corpus is NOT a good place to travel for work. And the beaches are stinky. I lived there for a while. If you want a beach town to work in, go to FL. Similar contact and such and at least the beaches are nicer there.
Oh yes and if you're gonna travel to TX, go to Austin. Skip the rest.

what about Dallas? Do you need a license to work there? And what about the contact?
But back on topic, SO glad you're back and made it through. I think most would have bailed so good for you.
There's only one club I would recommend working at right now, and it's only gotten good in the past year or so after new owners came in and re-vamped it. We get lots of tourists and businessmen traveling from Dallas/ Austin/ Houston, and from other parts of the country on a regular basis, and this is why I am able to make what I do. I'm stuck here till December so I made the best of things.
I don't know if I would make a special trip down here just to work, so in that sense I can see where Bridgette is coming from. But it beats the hell outta the Gold Club from what I gather. We don't have to give the club a cut of anything, except for $22 tip out and $5 to the DJ. So if I make $800 I walk out with almost all of it.

seriously... scarlett did this alot of justice.
the club in question really does not like to have more than one black girl working. strange to me, but hey, that club pissed me off for the LAST time a few weeks ago. i will NEVER go back (unless one of you lovelies decided to try it out so i can get a dance or 2) =)
