Any. Why?...because you never know what exactly is in each pill. You dont know the amount of what is in there so its hard to judge what a safe weekly dose would be.

"This MDMA effect dropoff might be explained by a psychological mechanism: loss of novelty. (On the other hand, people who have experienced MDMA effect dropoff generally report that there is not a similar dropoff in the effects of other psychedelics with which they are equally or more experienced, e.g. LSD and DMT.) Or the dropoff might be caused by lasting neurophysiological or neurological "changes" to the brain from exposure to MDMA, the prior state of the changed structures being necessary for ecstatic MDMA experiences. It is an as-yet-unanswered question whether such changes, if they happen, are best regarded as harmful, neutral, or beneficial.

If you choose to use MDMA, the lesson here may be to spend your first few sessions wisely and cherish them. Later sessions may never seem as ecstatic." (http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/mdma...q.shtml#repeat)

I saw a documentary on the pill. It rots holes in your brain, as shown on brain scans of several teens doing it a lot. A 19 year old girl had the memory recall of an 85 year old after doing it for 3 years.

I can vouch for that. I had friends in high school who acted like the had Alzheimer's after about a year of X. It was one of the saddest things I've ever seen.

Recently, there was a young guy in my club who did not seem to have a lot of money spend several thousand on his CC because he was rolling on E....and what feels good takes precedence over what's responsible. I almost felt bad, but not really because he knew that he was taking that shit. You have to know bad stuff will happen.

Why would you want to give up that kind of control of your bodily functions? Is thinking really that bad?

It's one of the few drugs that because of the mixture will stay in your system forever. Get this: in your nervous system. In your spinal cord!!!!

Now, I do NOT condone drugs of any kind.

Please re-read: I DO NOT CONDONE DRUGS OF ANY KIND.

But if you're going to put an illegal substance in your body, let it be something that get flushed out be it one day or one week. Whatever. Coke leaves the body by the next day. Weed for instance can be detected for weeks after (though you can flush it out quicker too). Oh, and then there's the whole hair thing with weed... but that hurts for detection, not your body in the long run.

My lord, how many times a week??? Do we really have to answer this question?

    Try never!!!

I did it when I was younger. What a waste. I am lucky I am not dead. Not to mention all the money I wasted.

But I agree with Katherine, I do not codone drug usage. But if you must, choose a wiser vice, a lesser evil. Maybe something natural and organic like shrooms, weed, or how about just a glass of red wine.

If you are doing ectasy every WEEK...you have a problem. Taking a drug of ANY kind isnt the best of ideas...but if you are doing so are such a regular basis..it's probably time for rehab.

I had an actress friend who did it regularly for a long time. Her therapist and doctors told her it damaged her brain. She was very absent minded. She was my roomie for a couple of months. She used to do things like start a bath and forget about it, opening jars of food and leaving them out , et. To sum things up she had a very hard time concentrating. She was only 26 when I knew her.

What E does is this: If you take it more than a certain number of times (It's a pretty low number, probably around a couple of dozen or less) your serotonin is PERMANENTLY lowered. So in the future you will battle depression for the rest of your life. I learned this from Loveline (Dr. Drew) years ago and it scared me off of taking E any longer. Only dropped a few times. Not worth walking around depressed... Good luck

Maybe that's whats wrong with me. I have severe anxiety issues to this day. I partied in my younger days without abandon. However, I am not as forgetful as leaving a tub running. I am somewhat forgetful, however, but probably not more than the average person.

    What was I just saying?

A lot of people do drugs because they want to feel happy. Me personally, I work out, run with my dog, play with my niece, do ballet, play the piano and spend time with my sweetie. That makes me happy enough. Maybe you should just think about all the things that make you happy instead of doing drugs to substitute that.

I knew a guy who talked just like Eeyore the Donkey from "Winnie The Pooh" cartoons after a few years of using E heavily. He was sweet as could be, but he sounded & looked very monotone. He was marginally excited during sex. ; P He regretted that he had used up all of his serotonin.
I was slipped an E in a mixed drink but barfed it up. I'm so glad it went that way- the little that got into my system made me sick for 3 days.

In case any of you wanted to know "E" cooks your brain! No Joke!! It raises your body temp to 102 and or higher. It's like a microwave, it cooks you from the inside out.

Not trying to be bitchy, but to even post a question like this shows it's already too many times a week! Follow the advice you've been given on here, that would be your best bet.

Well to be fair, X is made out to be a very popular, easy to use drug, so people don't automatically assume how much it really affects you. I didn't even know until I saw the documentary.

ok first off you are all way off. you have bought into what the goverment was putting out at the height of the x craze

first off the "study" you are refenceing was later found out to be a study on METH.

X DOES NOT put holes in your brain. it can and will deplete seritonin in your brain with CRONIC use. the seritonin will come back. so the rule of thumb is to wait at least a few weeks in between uses. to allow your seritonin to repenish.

to the person that says it cooks you , again not true, there was a few years back some bad pills that did in fact cause people to overheat like that. they WERE NOT mdma.

acid will stay in your spinal cord not mdma.

all that being said to be safe you need to purchase a testing kit online and test your pills. alot that are going around are not mdma but 2cb or meth pills.

it's like everything else, moderation, moderation, moderation.

sorry to not include links but if you guys want to check what im saying it will be easy to find

I want to reiterate what velvet says about something ....it IS acid that stays in your spinal cord, but it is not permanent, I believe it is something like 7 years. And really, the only way it's going to come up is if you end up needing a spinal tap for some reason.

I absolutely do NOT condone drug use....I say this based on my own personal and family experiences with these things. But if you're going to do ecstacy, I would hope that you wouldn't do it every week. That can't be good for you. My friend (the bipolar one that I've talked about here and there) is also schizophrenic, and one of the first thing her doctors asked her was if she had done any acid/ecstacy/etc. She said no, but the truth is she was a HUGE raver for many years prior to having schizophrenic episodes. Although different doctors believe different things, I choose to believe that she brought that upon herself, or at least made it worse.

There's a ton of information here for the curious:
    http://www.mdma.net

I've done X a few times, and I'm not any more absent-minded or depressed than I was before. However, like any mind-alterting substance, MDMA should be respected and taken seriously. If you're doing it every week, it's at least as much of a red flag as if you were having heavy alchohol binges on a weekly basis. What's going on in your life that makes you want to tune out of reality so often?

I cant even deal with what many of you seem to convince yourselves to be true.
Honey, stop taking ecstasy and be careful. Do a long search online and read up on all the drug facts, even ask your family doctor, (even if you have to say its for a friend). Any amount of ecstasy per week is too much. Go to the library and check out an abnormal psych book and learn about the harm that the shit you put inside you is doing to your body and your mind. I never thought I would be someone preaching about drugs, but if you are going to ruin yourself at least be informed about what you are doing!!

Candygrrl, you inspired me to look in my Abnormal Psych book from previous college classes. Here is what it says:

Amphetamines, including MDMA (now commonly called ecstacy), stimulates the central nervous sytem by enhancing the activity of norepinephrine and dopamine. Specifically, amphetamines help the release of these neurotransmitters and block their reuptake, thereby making more of them available throughout the system. Too much amphetamine - and therefore ...dopamine and norepinephrine - can lead to hallucinations and delusions. As we will see in Chap 13, this effect has stimulated theories on the causes of schizophrenia.

The physiological symptoms occur shortly after amphetamines are ingested and can include heart rate or blood pressure changes, perspiration or chills, nausea or vomitting, weight loss, muscular weakness, respiratory depression, chest pain, seizures, or coma. Amphetimine tolerance builds quickly, making it doubly dangerous. Withdrawal often results in apathy, prolonged periods of sleep, irritability, and depression.

well, i'm gonna be one of few who says that i think it's okay to use it every now and then. i like to pop the occasional E on a night out. i personally believe the side effects are way over-exaggerated, but that's just me. yeah it probably will rot your brain, but you'd need to SERIOUSLY abuse it to get to that stage. a lot of people are pretty secretive about their drug taking - i think anyone who says that they only did one pill a week and ended up fucked up from it probably just doesn't want to admit that it was more like 30 pills a week.

if you're using it every week, then that's not so cool, and that's when it will do damage. i used to abuse it (i used to be a '5+ pills in one night' party girl), but i curbed that pretty quickly, and now i just have one every now and then if i feel like it.

i think that as long as you use it responsibly and in moderation then it's not going to do you any serious harm. every week is too much.
