    Default FAO website owners

    Hi everyone,

A few weeks ago I started testing out something called a swicki. I added it to a page on my website. The aim is to build a search engine powered by users searches. This means that over time, the searches learn from the users what are the most relevant results.

    A pretty neat idea.

At the outset, it will be just like any other search results page, but after a few dozen searches, it starts to alter the results in line with user experience. The company involved plans monetisation in the future, but they don't seem to have that bit figured out yet, so I don't know what will happen or whether they will monetise. I guess like everything online, they will use adsense...

So, if you have your own website, and would like to test it out and add it to a page, here is the link to get the code:

Swickis are really new online, so this is new technology. I make no apologies for the fact that I don't fully understand it yet. I am sure that like stripping, all will be revealed in time.

    Lets see how it works...

    Best

    Stuart

    Oh, I forgot to mention...

It is possible to train the thing! That means that if you want your site to rank more highly in the results (presuming the site is stripping related) it is possible to 'help it along'. Over time, if users do not click on the results, the site will fall in the rankings, as I said, it is user driven.

And this is what it looks like:

Let me know below what sites should be listed for results to help the user experience.

    Thanks,

    Stuart
