Default Not putting on weight when not dancing

Im currently on a "vacation" due to the problems Ive had lately, and Im terrified that I will stack on the weight, since Im not dancing 15 hours a week atm.

With Study Ive put on a little bit of weight, due to sitting writing papers for 3-4 hours a day, not to mention class time, so Im working on getting rid of that, but I really dont know how to keep my weight down without loads of exercise.

Im doing 2 hours 5-6 days a week mixture of Cardio and weights, and trying to watch what Im eating. (Im used to eating what I like and burning it off at work )

    Any suggestions?

How do you maintain your weight if you are taking a break?

Eat fewer calories, lower fat, exercise. That's really the only way.

^^Agreed. If you are happy with your current wieght then just do 30min of cardio 3 times a week and maybe throw in a light wieght training sesssion twice a week. I only say WT because it will help maintain your muscles shape. But if you just want to stay at your current wieght cardio is sufficient enough.

Here is a suggestion from a friend of mine (not a dancer) who got in great shape quick.

Drink a cup of kefir with a healthy breakfast. Its a yogurt-type drink, and its supposed to be good for helping the body burn calories. Drink a liquid iron supplement with this. Women tend to be anemic, which makes us weak.

Eat a sensible lunch. In the afternoon, when the metabolism is at its highest, go outside and JUMP ROPE. Do as many as you can. Aim to get to 1,000.

    Eat dinner.

    Don't eat anything after 8pm.

This worked for her, she looks terrific. Me, I bought some kefir and that's as far as I've gotten.

I don't restrict calories. I am actually eating more calorically than when I was eating higher carb. I just stay away from grains and sugars. I focus on salads, fruits (but not high sugar) and meats and can drop the excess pounds effortlessly. I also have more energy and certain health problems go away (I'm sensitive to grains/sugars). Works very well for me, but everyone is different. Oh and lots of lemon water and green tea

You're soooo right about kefir, girl! We were raised on that stuff. The closest thing to kefir they got here is buttermilk.I drink a cup every morning with a bowl of oatmeal, which is very good for you as well. Some grocery store will carry the original kefir, some won't.You can always get it at russian deli if you have one around your town.

    www.kefir.com

I get this brand at my local fancy supermarket. The company founders are from Odessa. Their kefir is decent, its much less sweet than yogurt.
