Default my gown got stollen and more bad things..

Well I've been working for a week and so far my brand new $80 gown got stolen. Erg.

On top of that my boyfriends cousin came in the club and saw (but I never saw him?!) me and told everyone around town and in the family I worked there.

Erg..... Now his family who already hates me probably tells people I'm total scum.

I woudlnt care except for its a small town. The last girl who was a dancer always had rumers about her. Now I'm next....

    what "last girl"?
    How'd your gown get stolen?
huh....normally, people with shitty families (if they've got 0 reason to hate you) eventually turn shitty themselves. If your boy is distancing himself from them, then it doesn't matter. Eff 'em.

you'll learn that rumors don't hurt, and once you hear them all (and you will....several times) they start to be funny, and even a badge of courage.

"Oh, I'm a slut because I'm a dancer? And yet I won't sleep with you. Huh. Slut this -finger-"

Yea I know. F his family and F what people think... But I'm just sensitive. Right now I'm making shitty money so I'm down anyways.

My gown got stollen because I dont have a locker. It fell out of my bag on Friday and when I went in Tuesday I checked all around the little "nook" where I kept my bag... nothing. I searched the entire DR.... nothing. I even asked the bar and the bouncers. NOTHING. Management told me "look it got stollen we're sorry"

My fault for leaving it there but girls leave stuff there all the time. I just couldnt go back and get it because I live an hour away. I guess its my fault it got stollen but I'm just pissed cause I just got it and spent 80 on it.

Oh snap, that's not good. Sorry about your gown.

As for the guys family. Honestly, if they don't like you beforehand then your not losing anything. Sounds like they think way high of themselves. People like that annoy me >_>

Yeah, it sucks, but pretty much anything that isn't under lock and key or your watchful eye will likely walk away from the club. If it is a small town, you are likely to see the dancer whoe stole it wearing it at some point.

I encountered the same thing at the club I danced at in the begining. I thought I was doing a good job of keeping my job a secret, but just about everyone knew about it in less than a month. The city I was dancing in wasn't tiny, either. The population was around 50,000 people. All of my family lived in another state, so they were none the wiser, but every one I knew in that city, knew I was dancing in no time flat. Eventually, I was referred to as "Oh, here comes that stripper girl" at bars, restaurants and stores.

Traveling to dance helps take the pressure off in a small town enviroment. I still do that even though the new city I live in is close to 400,000. I also don't like the club here, so traveling is my only choice.

Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

You're new at the club and it sucks being new. The girls who have been there longer will feel like they can get away with stealing your stuff. Happened to me a few times. I think about three outfits of mine were taken and even a tshirt I wore in. It'll keep happening until you're there longer and get a locker, which is just a waiting game. Make friends with Sonya. She's always there in the day and she sees when lockers become available. Plus, she's nice as hell.

My advice? Bring only two outfits for the time being: one stage and one floor. And don't make them $80 gowns (I assume you got it from the woman who comes in to show her things? Remember, her stuff is nice, but overpriced). Yeah, they look nice, but everyone else will notice that they look nice and take them while you hustle the floor. These girls have stolen baby wipes and deoderant before. They have no problem stealing a gown. And you will never see that gown again because they'll wear it to another club or sell it. Sucks that you can't trust the girls, but what can you do (other than hiding in the dressing room all night and hoping to catch the little b*tch stealing your outfits).

Best of luck and I'll be back soon. Promise. Oh, and go to Providence. The gowns are cuter and *much cheaper* there.

Aw CG that sucks. I'm sorry.

AS far as SO's family goes they have always reminded me of my DH's family. At this point I just don't give a shit. I don't care about any opinion they have on anything. I figure they aren't people I want to be like -so why on earth would I take advice from them or care about their opinion?

    Thanks everyone.

Return- I know I remember you telling me about DH and how your situation was similiar. I was mad but I'm over it now.... I was mostly mad because I made lousy money the past few shifts and I'm like damn... I take my clothes off and get a bad rep for shit money! But once I get the money flowin then I'll say F THAT! and I wont care. SO doesnt care so whatever....

As for my dress Rozz yes I got it from the exspensive lady. I was told she was to expensive but I had 3 days from the point I got hired to the point I had to work and I barely had enough time ot drive the 20 min to see that lady nevermind over an hour Boston/Providence.

I did get my 2nd gown from her because I got it custom made... And she made it in 2 days for like 70 bucks. I cant dance in Mercedes old dress anymore and I thought... She made it EXACTLY how I wanted it within 2 days... It was worth it.

Next time I want some simple black one I'll head down to providence. But yea I payed a lot but the fact she was so local it was worth it.

I bet whoever stole my dress turned around and sold it like Kind Aurthors or Squires. Its not even warn its 1 week old.
....Its custom so if I do see it I will know its mine and I dont care if I gotta cut it off the girl I'll get it back... If I cant wear my dress no one can.

    LOL.

I better get my locker soon.
