    Default skin irritation issue

Anyone know of any medication or supplement that helps you not break out when that time of the month comes around?? (besides BC)

Also, on that note do you think there is some kind of hormone (the kind in BC that reduces your cramps AND helps you not break out) that you can take separately?

as far as pimples go, i swear by Dermalogica Anti-bac skin wash. i get it from my stylist. exfoliation is key, also.

well I already have a really effective skin care regime that keeps my skin pretty clear, but no matter what I still break out around that time.

For me I just exfoliate a lot. I have a very weird method of it too, but it works like a charm for me.

I go under the shower and soak my face under the hot water so my skin becomes really soft.
Then I scratch away the excess skin with -my fingernails-. Gently ofcourse, if it hurts you're not doing it right.

The reason why I do it with my hands rather then an exfoliating scrub is twofold. I can detect the oily skin with my fingers so I'm not actually butchering the skin that is in ok shape. I also get into all nooks like the side of my nose.

I also know when I should stop. As soon as your not scratching the dead-oily skin off you've cleared the area. It simple and extremely effective. I've done it for years and it never fails.

yes I have some, they work great but are kinda harsh on the skin.. I mainly use them for pre-self tanning to help get an even tan

Sparxxx, I just noticed you were new, welcome to SW

refined sugar will feed your skin irritations, i believe. calcium citrate with vitamin d suppliments helps reduce cramps.

Spironolactane is the prescription anti-androgen pill, evening primose oil is the natural supplement. You can try either one and see what works best for you.

Well, the birth control pill controls your hormones by suppressing ovulation. Therefore you don't go through the peaks and dips of estrogen during the month instead maintaining a steady level of estrogen or progesterone/estrogen. I got off the pill myself about five months ago and I use the new loreal acne regimen to help my skin as well as clearsil with benzol peroxide in it. It seems to work pretty decent except I do still struggle with those one or two pimples coming up all the time. I notice it gets worse if I miss washing my face one night or something.
