Default where are the laws looser?

just wondering..... what cities or states have the easiest laws for dancers?
I'm in Housotn and they are pretty strict (not that they are adhered to) is there anywhere that doesnt require licences anymore? Is there anywhere that you don't have to worry so much about getting busted for doing your job, lapdancing, grinding, etc?

Oregon, Montana, Arizona (Phoenix requires licenses), Wyoming, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, Rhode Island, Maine, Alaska.

That is the places I know about. Pretty much, if an area is known for strippers and the sex trade, you can count on there being a lot of regualtion (like in Vegas). Also the religious consevative areas like Utah and Idaho are pretty strict, too. Places with a lot of middle ground are the best bet.

Here in Az is pretty good. some parts of the state no license is required, and while the laws are fairly lax here, most of the clubs are fairly clean. There ARE a few extras girls running rampant through them, but not enough to screw with your income.

Illinois seems to be pretty lax. So far the state has left the regulating of clubs as a local matter. The area I'm most familar with is East St. Louis. Most of the clubs are actually in the small towns around East St. Louis: Brooklyn, Washington Park, Centreville, and Sauget. These towns with the exception of Sauget absolutely depend on the revenue generated by the clubs. At times clubs have donated dump trucks, police cars, and other needed equipment and paid their yearly business license fees early to keep a town afloat. Needless to say, though some in the towns dislike the clubs and what happens inside, they aren't in much of a hurry to do anything to hurt the clubs' business.

here in colorado you don't need licenses. however, in some areas you only air dance, while in others you do grinding and contact dances. depends on where in colorado you are. in most places guys can't touch you. it's not easy to make money unless you are in a larger city though.

Yeah, Ontario and Quebec. Of course, they're not American. But where there are no licenses required, I'm sure you could get work as an American so long as you're of age (no licenses in Ottawa, but there are in Toronto and I think Niagara...)

though I'd suggest NOT dancing in Quebec unless you want to do full contact dances for 10 dollars. Absolutely no disrespect to the women there who do, but if you can avoid it, I would.

If you're looking for lax laws I wouldn't bother with AZ. The only 2 cities are Tucson and Phoenix, and there's not so much money in Tucson (no license there and less political bullshit, but the money isn't worth it to me). A couple hundred a night there is normal to good money. One night I worked there (travelling) and made like $250, the manager commented about how well I did

There's more money in Phoenix but licenses are required now (since 2 yrs ago) and vice seem to go to the clubs at least 3 times per year looking to hand out tickets. While they generally only ticket a couple girls each time, the contact laws are so strict that pretty much ANYone could get a ticket for doing a regular dance. So there's always that little worry Ticket fines run anywhere from $250-2500 each, and if you get 3 in 3 years you lose your license.

Well there are laws and then there is enforcement. Like other posts said anywhere in E. St. Louis (Illinois)., Memphis, TN. San Fransisco, Ca. Providence, RI. Las Vegas, NV (outskirts). There are many others but these come to mind off the top of my head. Tampa, Fl. use to be on this list but I'm not so sure what is going on there nowadays.

Phoenix law enforcement is not exactly stiff but it's rather unpleasant when some girl gets a sex offender ticket for doing a regular lapdance. The clubs are still relatively clean compared to some places but when compared to the laws and the potential risk it's not that great a deal. And YES, if you get ticketed by vice it's a sex offense with all the trimmings.

yes there is a BIG difference between what the law actually says, and what clubowners tell dancers it's OK to do on a nightly basis. These days, it's more normal than not for girls to have to 'bend the law' on a nightly basis in order to do what's 'expected' to sell lap dances. This can go on for years without a hint of a problem from LE, until one night you find yourself busted.

It depends where in Quebec though. In Gatineau, it's $20 a song and the dances are just the same as anywhere in Ontario except that at most clubs dancers keep g-strings/thongs ON while lapdancing (which for me makes it better than Ontario-side).

In Montreal, it's $10/song, but at the nicer clubs the contact is way less than what an Ontario girl would expect (ie- no grinding, no sitting in laps, no boob/ass grabbing). And even being $10/song, some of those nicer Montreal clubs get so much business it's still possible to make decent cash.

I think Quebec has such a bad rap because of all the 'back woods' clubs that are brothels. I wouldn't suggest dancing anywhere 'middle-of-nowhere' Quebec, or off the island in Montreal. Those are where all those 'ach, quebec dancing!' rumours come from, I suspect.

Don't forget that the criminal law is a federal jurisdiction in Canada--unlike the US, where it's a state responsibility. So dancers across Canada are theoretically all under the same law when it comes to criminal prosecution. The differences in dancing regulations come from municipal bylaws, local custom, and the willingness of local police to enforce the law.

The patchwork of rules in Quebec that mollyzmoon describes is a function of these differences. Off-island clubs are under the jurisdiction of the provincial police--not the municipal police--and for a variety of reasons (mostly the fact that they're mostly hidden from the public eye) cops turn a blind eye to the prostitution that takes place inside them.
