    Default Food in here

    Hello everyone-

Was just browsing around this morning before having to go into work in a couple hours (ick! it's so nice out too!), and thought of this topic.

I have a really REALLY hard time eating before aned during work....I am in good shape and take care of myself. However, when I eat before work, I feel very very bloated. I think it's all "in my head," and if it is, not eating actually helps me be more confident on stage and walking around (and hence, makes more money). I'ts to the point where I can literally see my stomach "poof out more" if it has food in it....

During my shift, I also cannot bring myself to eat. Not only for the reasons mentioned above, but I'm worried about looking pig-like to the custys.

This all becomes a problem b/c after having only a couple drinks, I get tipsy. *think WOO ha!* And when I leave (I work dayshift), I feel like I need to sleep..I'm that exhausted. Ugh.

Do any of you experience this problem??

I feel ya , girl. I hate eating at work, makes me feel puffy, too. My breakfast before work consists of a Detour sports bar which I eat very slowly, like 15-20 minutes. I nibble on it while putting on my makeup. I usually will have nothing else until I get off work. If I do eat something, it's usually protein and/or veggies in a portion no larger the the size of half my fist. I'll either sit with a long time regular or retreat to the dressing room to eat.

It's not healthy, but it keeps me from feeling bloated and un-sexy.

I feel bloated after eating pretty much anything. I use protein shakes and smoothies because they don't seem to cause a big belly effect. Plus, they're easy to digest. I eat small portions and nothing high in sodium. I've learned enough to know that I can only drink if I have food in my system.

Lately I don't eat until I get home either...like breakfast around 11am or noon, and then work 8/9-3, then of course I'm starved and eat a lot at night. I hate that I do this too because eating a big meal before bed makes it impossible to digest very well, which is uncomfortable to say the least.

Now I'm trying to eat very small meals before work, and like someone else said I chew very slowly. It definitely helps.

My suggestion would be that you don't drink though. I don't. On such an empty stomach, it can do you no good. If I 'have to' order something I order a 'cranberry', which is $6 juice and the customers just assume it's got vodka in it.

Bah, but what I hate the most is when I work my one afternoon shift a week, and it happens to be 'steak day'. I don't even like steak, but the smell of that buffet is torture. The food at this place actually looks really, really good (big green salad, potatoes and gravy, etc). When the buffet happens, EVERYONE in the bar is eating all around me and I wanna shriek. The dancers, customers, everyone it seems (the food is free). Gah.
