WHenever I do any sort of strenous excercise which require lots of bending you can hear my joints pop! Is this just becasue I am not as flexible as I used to be? Will it stop?

i heard that popping joints like if it happens alot all over the body it is a sign that you are pretty flexible. Something about your joints are looser than most so the popping is related to that. I do know i pop alot .. my knees, ankles when walking up the stairs at times... ect and i have a very flexible body. Could be age but Ive been like this since I was very little.. just a thought

My joints have creaked and popped since I was a baby...
The important question is : Do your joints hurt when this happens...? Noises can be normal, pain...not so much. Joint pain is a seriously NOT good sign.

My joints have always popped too! Lately though I'm starting to sound like someone playing with bubble wrap, lol!
I am only 26 so I hope to God it's not age yet! Lol. They don;t hurt- it's just unsexy to be doing floor work and popping, lol.
my joints pop and crack all the time too...i don't feel pain when it happens (except for sometimes in my knees), but yeah, to echo dylanangel, sometimes when i extend my arms, my back sounds like bubblewrap popping. i'm semi-flexible when i keep up with exercises. if you're worried, glucosamine/chondricton (sp?) is supposed to help with joint and cartilage issues.
"Seeing the landscape at this superficial level only captures its boring uniformity, not allowing you to immerse yourself in the spirit of the place; for that you must stop at least several days."
~Che Guevara, "The Motorcycle Diaries"

Fish oil is good for joints, mine used to crack a bit but it's mostly gone now.
i've always had joints that pop and crack all over my body, from neck to ankles to wrists to my back and then some. I'm not that flexible and never have been. Sometimes I can crack my neck so loud people will notice it and think it hurt but it feels good.

My knees sound like Rice Krispies these days. With a bit of pepper grinding mixed in. Supplements help the situation. My hips pop quite a bit too. Both have gotten progressively worse and I am positive it's from dancing. Too many years on high heels, getting on my knees, exaggerated movements, etc.

Rice Krispies, lol! Give it a few years and you'll progress up to my bubble wrap!Originally Posted by Bridgette
And yeah, it's more than likely due to the poor position our body is in wearing those heels. We have a lot of more mature dancers around here and the dressing room sounds like a bag of popcorn in the microwave.
