    Default scars anyone?

    Hi
Does anyone have any scars, like from plastic surgery? If so, do you cover them up well with makeup?
    Thanks!

    Hi Emily!
What kind of makeup do you use? With lighting issues and the "stay on" factor, I bet you use a fantastic kind!

I have a scars...not from plastic surgery, though! I have a big scar on my ankle, scars on my knee from an operation, scars from gall bladder removal, and a c-section scar. (Geez, I'm like a walking scar!) I use Dermablend. It works awesome and will cover almost anything, even tattoos.

I have scars but dont even bother covering them up, Where they are i can typically wear my thong up high enough where it covers it. Plus where I work we wear sorta boyshorts anyways.

But i found that coverblend ( what i wear ) doesnt work too well on its own. I haven't tried dermablend in years. when I last tried it it came off on clothing etc.

Im curious to know those that use these things if you do like Emily does and use the green concelear etc? Or if a powder is really what sets it and makes it work?

Yes, it probably would. Me, I usually don't even bother unless I'm doing a photo shoot, because 1) My scars aren't incredibly noticeable in dark light, esp. with a tan and 2) if anyone *does* notice, it gives me something to talk about!

I have a six inch scar running right across my abdomen about an inch above my belly button. Dermablend doesn't really cover it, so belly chains and creative costumes have saved me.

Scars can easily be covered up with dermablend, but if you tend to scar more badly than others (large or keloid scars), your plastic surgeon can prescribe you steriod strips, which are like thin, clear band-aids (just like steri-strips) and which you keep on for 12-24 hrs at a time. They will help to smooth and lighten scars, similar to what Medirma is supposed to do but only 10x faster. This worked out really well for me b/c I do tend to get keloid scars and cannot even have dermal piercings. :-)

I have a c-section scar i dont bother to do a thing with when I work nude clubs. They arent looking at that anyway. Whn I do photoshoots though, photoshop comes in handy.

I have a gnarly scar from a splenectomy that runs from my sternum to just above my navel. There are two lines of scarified dots on either side of it from the staples that held the wound together. It looks just like a zipper. I used to wear cupless corsets to cover it, but for the last several months I haven't even bothered. A lot of people don't even notice it, which is odd, cause it's huge. A bartender I work with EVERY NIGHT saw it for the first time the other day and was shocked...then told me it was hot. About half the guys I dance for notice it and ask about it, and it's something to talk about. A surprising number of guys LOVE it, especially when I tell them how sensitive it is. Yeah, I'm a magnet for wierdos.

BUT, my point being, don't stress too much. If blacklights and distraction work for me, they can work for anyone.

As I mentioned I have scars and simply tan, I don't want that make-up all over me or a customer!

I have a scar over one brow which everyone assumes is from a piercing being ripped out. It's actually from a broken window. I have now learnt to cover it with a fringe! I have a scar on my leg from a motorcylce accident. I don't cover it. It wasn't some cool accident either. I was a kid, on a peewee50
