    Default Black Dahlia

Hey all. I am doing research for a P.R project centered around this film. I saw this movie,,,quite interesting. My questions are...
    A. If you saw this movie(or want to), what were(are) your main motivations for wanting to see this film? What about this film is most intriguing to you?
    Thanks in advance

I saw and liked it the movie.

My main motivation for seeing the film was that I am a fan of Mia Kirshner.

    I didn't.

I am sick of Hollywood making films about Hollywood. So fucking narcissistic.

If I ever see the film, my motivation would be that it's based on the book by the same guy who wrote LA Confidential. It was a brutal, unsolved murder, and it would make for an interesting story. However, while the author loved the LA Confidential movie, he doesn't care for the movie version of Black Dahlia, which is discouraging.

You walked out of SMURFS?? Haha. I thought the movie was erm...okay. Just weird. What made me want to watch it was just that it was Hollywood murder - no one in hollywood ever gets murdered - so its interesting when it happens.

it didnt even follow any of the books ..I was so bummed out. Dude more then bummed I was fucking pissed.

I totally was into this case and read all the books I could get my hands on . It did it no justice. Nothing in it was even directly related to the fucking murder. nothing was close to the facts ..not even where she was FOUND! Her body was found in a residental area by some bushes. Not in some fucking field.

and dude I loved the smurfs...i was equally pissed when I had to walk out of that movie and i was liike 4

I can't recall the authors name. He was a cop in LA ...might still be but he basically sovled in ..his father did it.

Interesting read and FUCKED up. tons of pics he discovered in his fathers possesion after he had passed away along with other things.

Its sorta like jack the ripper.

The movie was not intended to be a pure telling of the known facts of this case. It was more of an inspired by type thing.

At any rate, I enjoyed it even if only to see the haunting and beautiful presence of Mia Kirshner on the big screen.

on another note- Tart you are so f-ing photogenic! You should try your hand at acting or modeling.

The movie didnt look like it would give the story justice. I like following cold cases and famous crime stories. I was reading the cast listing for the movie and man I hope they didnt intertwine the earnings for the movie with famous cast list.

I think Id rather read the book at this point. The only thing that intrigues me about the movie is that it would speed up the reading time to only watching a couple hours.

I haven't seen it because everyone I know hated it.

If I DID see it, it would only be when it came to DVD and only because I love cold case files/murder mysteries.

Tart, during my research on movie forums, i came across alottt of people that walked out of it as well. Haha crazy. Alot of those same people also complained about the fact that there was a whole lot of plot not centered around the murder. That did make it sorta tricky. I came across a website about her that sorts out the facts verses speculations presented about her. It also had some pictures. www.bethshort.com helps sort out some things for anyone who did not see the movie yet.
