Default Wtf is this? (Wrist problems)

I screwed up my wrist. I'm assuming its from the amazing amount of stress I put on it during pole tricks but why now? I just woke up on Thursday and couldn't even hold a cup. Can't twist it. It pops. Not broken, but it feels horribly odd and I get strange pains. Seems to be mainly me rotating my wrist that does it, or holding things that have some weight to them.

Rested it till today, even bought a wrist brace for it I've been wearing, and it's still not better?

Tendonitis maybe? What's a good home treatment for that?

This is really bad timing, because I'm trying to save up money for after my BA surgery (to cover bills and such), and taking a weekend off really killed me...

I don't know if it is tendonitis, but if it is, wrap your wrist. Try not to use it any way-pretty much complete rest except that you should strech it in the morning, afternoon, and night. Take an anti-inflammatory such as aleve or even better, advil/ibprophen. Ice it to reduce any swelling. This is what the dr. told me to do with my tendonitis. However, this may or may not work for you because it may not be tendonitis. This sounds more serious than tendonitis.
Best bet-get thee to a doctor.

Pole dancers are prone to carpeltunnel(sp?)... I recomend icing it, take anti imflamitories and A535 when your not icing it(dont use it too much). I have it in both wrists as well as tendonitis and arthritus(I swear I have the body of a 80 year old). You should really see a doc if it keeps up to get special splints made for your wrist when your sleeping and stuff. It can and will get worse if its not taken care of. There is a surgry option as well if its really bad.

Also consider massage therapy and acupuncture... works wonders. Make a concious effort to try and keep your wrists straight when you use the pole as well.

More than likely you've either sprained it really bad or you have carpial tunnel(tendonitis). I have carpial tunnel, but it only flares up here and there. It hurts the most when I'm doing push ups and working out or if my hand gets pushed back. I use the Tiger Balm on it and it helps alot. If it hurts really bad like you say right now, go to WalMart get some tiger balm put a glob right where it hurts and rub it in. You will feel the warmth of it working. Also buy a wrist brace also at walmart. It cost about $12 for the good black one. I wear mine to work sometimes and people always ask me what happened or do you have carpial tunnel, but hey it works. I think it looks almost like a bowling glove or that thing the professional bowlers wear. I'm gonna start accupuncure soon for my carpial tunnel and migraines. It's supposed to work really good.

When you go to walmart, the pharmacy, or a medical supply store, ask them for "cock up wrist splints". Sounds funny, I know, but it's the kind of splint used specifically for wrist injuries because it keeps your wrist in a neutral position.

boxingdoc, are those splints good to use to protect my wrists when I'm on the computer? I use my hands a lot and want to protect against injuries.

Yes. Those are the same splints people with carpal tunnel have to wear
