    A dancer's "Layette"

    Hi!
Let's say we get a job! Yay!
What kind and (and how much of it) should we get? Like, if it's a gown club, how many gowns? How many pairs of shoes? How many thongs? (I know it does determine how many shifts per week we work, so put that in consideration as well)
How much $ should be invested?

    Thanks!!!

you can wear the same thing every night if you wanted to. Just get something nice and build from there. Don't invest too much in the beginning. You can wash dresses every other day (spray with febreeze if you want) and thongs every day by hand.

You definitely only need one pair of shoes (clear on clear).

Well, I would have at least 3 different outfits. So you don't have to wear the same thing every night, or something got spilled, or ripped, or your outfit now smells like some guys awfully strong cologne or your sweat. At my club they ask you to have at least 6-7 outfits.

And while clear on clear shoes are great and go with everything, I would most definately have another pair within a week or two of you starting, I have seen many heels break on stage, and you do not want to be forced to limp around the rest of the night or wear someone else's old shoes, yuk! (sweat, smell, germs -athlete's foot.....)
With all the stupid things guys will say, stay cool.

"Her apartment is littered with soggy G-strings and cheap 8-inch heeled shoes, along with empty tubes of body glitter, mascara, prescription drugs, zit cream, Aqua Net and Polaroid pictures of her and her "friends" engaged in some drinking and dancing on St. Patrick's Day last year. " My God....

Within a month- you should definitely buy another pair of shoes. I started out with 2 heels and 1 boot. The boot broke a month or two ago and 1 pair of my heels split last weekend. Now I'm only down to one. So instead of buying more outfits than I had planned, I certainly need another pair right away.

I think it's a good idea to swap shows out also occasionally.

I hate being in the same outfit for too long, so I take about 8 of them with me. I don't always wear them all in one night- I just like the variety. But this isn't necessary in all clubs.
