Hey...
Looking for a classy, upscale place in or around Hartford, CT.
Little or no mileage is ok.
Any thoughts?

P.S. Research is pointing to "Gold Club." Anyone know anything about this place?

"See, believe it or not (and I don't care whether you do), it's never been about the sex. I get sex at home, anytime, and we like it, and it's good for both of us. No, my stripclub experience has been about acceptance, and affirmation, and desirability...There have been some women who have a personality that just clicks with mine, and in the faux-sex atmosphere of the club, it's a mix that is completely seductive." - Jay Zeno

The Gold Club has 2 bars side by side. The first is a somewaht upscale topless only with alchohol. The 2nd is less upscale and nude no alcholol. Both have areas for private dances but neither offers exceptional mileage. The topless side is nicer inside and is the most upsacle in the area, although there is also a palce called Kahoots in the area that I havn't been to. Some girls dance both sides some stick to one or the other. Overall dancer quality was farily good the last time I was there on a weeknight. Drink prices avrage for a SC as I recall. Hope that helps.

I've been to both Kahoots and the Gold club but it was years ago. Both where nice clubs-safe, not terribly high mileage. I know a dancer or two who have worked at the Gold Club recently and they say it's still good.

I worked at the Gold Cub briefly - it was a rather nice little club, lots of red velvet seats. Dances are 20 on the topless side and 25 on the nude. Small but reasonably classy, with a variety of pretty girls. When I was there, the outside looked dreadful, so don't let that throw you off. There was this one short girl with a fauxhawk, who was an amazing dancer. She could even do these crazy hanging from the roof tricks. Austin is her name. There's also a terribly fun and clever girl who's in nursing school, or maybe done with it - I can't remember. She has a tattooed Betty Paige kind of look, and I want to say her name starts with an r. Some of the management is kind of jerks, but since I suspect you're not auditioning that shouldn't be a problem. Oh, and you can smoke on the nude-no alcohol side, which is open until 3 or 4 in the morning, depending on days.
P.S. - they have 2-1 specials with a calendar included. Sucks for us, but good for customers.
My $0.02 on both places: Gold Club has some quality dancers and is a nicely decorated environment, but I've always gotten an extremely snotty attitude from the male employees there - equal amounts cold and macho. I also have gotten a pretty standoffish attitude from some (but definitely not all) of the dancers there. This is an opinion that is shared by several male friends, too, so don't think this is ONLY a dancer/female customer's opinion. Expensive lapdances, too - they've gone up since you were there, minette: $35 a pop on the nude side now.
As far as Kahoots goes, well, the fact that there is no stage and really no dancing per se (though I heard they did some remodeling very recently) turned me off instantly - I've only been there twice and was bored to tears both times. My understanding of it is that it used to be better but it's been in decline for a while, though if you're looking for extras it might be a good bet.
But hell, GenWar, if you're coming this way, why not stop off in New Haven en route to Hartford and visit me?![]()

No doubt about it ...Gold club.
If you have the heels and the time take 84 east out to Electric Blue. easy to find. Right off the exit. IT is fun too.

Sadly enough, I have to agree with the snooty attitude for a few of the dancers, and the down-right unfriendly attitude of some of the male staff. And, you're right RoseWhite about the prices, it is $35 for a nude dance, and $25 for a topless - I seriously misremembered. But, hey, if we're going to pull for own areas - Mass is better than CT anyway, 'cause we have nudity and alchohol. Hehe.
My .02 cents since I am no longer a Ct dancer ...go see Rose!!!!! We did when we went back home for a visit and will DEFINATELY go see her again next year when we go back...Love ya girl
!!!!!
Awww, shucks, you're making me blush! Thanks for the plug baby! Really hope we can hang again (and I'll be auditioning for y'all on SL whenever I get some real time, heh).
Minette, you know, I just may be trying out some clubs in Mass pretty soon myself. Catwalk will probably be my 'home' club, but I'm feeling the need to stretch out a bit. Hooray for nakedness AND booze!(And not getting home at freakin' six in the morning, but that's another topic. . . . )
Back on topic: GenWar, I should be clear, though - on further thought, you did say you were looking for an upscale place, and I have to admit my club is not upscale. *I* like it, and it's certainly not sleazy, but we're not exactly wearing gowns and selling you cigars, that's fer sher. So it might not be your cup o' joe. Let me know how your CT experience goes either way!![]()

It's not me, ma'am. Personally, I would *LOVE* to have a chance to stop by and buy you a glass of wine.
This trip is for Mrs. Gen and therefore I NEED to go as upscale as possible.

If its upscale you want for the wife, Gold club is about the best you are going to do in CT. However, its nothing like the upscale clubs in Manhattan or Foxy Lady in Brockton, MA. But since there's nothing like those clubs in the Hartford area its probably the best alternative in between those 2 locations. (Gold club Groton is not significantly better and to me there's just something wrong with the layout of that club). Good luck and enjoy.

Gold Club was quite nice. Not ridiculously classy but nice enough that the ladies in the party (there were 4) didn't feel out of place, dirty or embarassed. Girls were nice and friendly. On the whole, a successful venture. Thanks to all for the advice.

Glad you - and the ladies - had fun, GenWar!

I'm going to be in Hartford next week..... for almost a month....
I know this thread is pretty old.... so is Gold Club still the best club in Hartford?
I'm looking for something upscale, don't care about extras or high mileage..... although I wouldn't mind if there was high mileage![]()
Gold Club is eh. I worked at Rockstar, about a half hour from Hartford, for quite some time. It's topless only, but the inside is a lot cleaner than the Gold Club. Then again, the Gold Club redid their entire floor and I never saw the finished product, so it could look pretty nice now - who knows?
If you want info on any of the CT clubs, PM me. I grew up in the area and know each and every club in CT - I auditioned at a bunch of them, was offered a job nearly everywhere, but chose Rockstar's for the nicer girls.

You may want to check out Mardi Gras in Springfield Mass, just north of Hartford.
I'm not a big fan of CT clubs. I hit a place called Electric Blue on occasion that is pretty cool but I would not describe it as upscale by any means.
is Hartford a safe place to wander around? I keep hearing different stories about how safe/sketchy it is.
also.... I'll probably try to use my corporate credit card for cover charge/drinks, etc. will certain clubs show up under aliases on the bill?

Hartford after dark...Depends on where you are. I've been downtown in the business district a few times and felt safe at say nine or ten at night. Other parts of town not so much. Springfield is about the same. I don't know what you are used to so it's tough to say.
Of the clubs I mentioned I know the Gras shows up on your CC bill as something else, not sure about Electric Blue. I don't use CC's in strip clubs as a rule.
^^
I went to college in SF and I currently work there too, I spent a decent amount of time volunteering in a low-income neighborhood known for it's drug addicts/homeless so I'm pretty comfortable in those-type of sketchy areas.... it's the other type of ghetto that irks me. the kind where you can get robbed and then killed.... :/
as for the cc thing.... i think ill just follow your lead and use cash... just to be safe.
Responding to RoseWhite: Kahoot's does definitely have a stage, (and booths). I've only been there once, for a quick visit on a Saturday afternoon, and was pretty impressed -- good-looking dancers and pretty good mileage.
