    Default Best/worst days to work?

Tuesday sucked. It was Columbus (US) day on Monday so it was a 3 day weekend.

I decided I'm not even going to bother with the days following long weekends.

What seem to be good days to work and what days are slow (in regards to American holidays)

I definetly like the Fridays before long weekends because the custys seemed to all be in good moods!

it really depends on what you're comfortable with.

I can adapt to small crowds with businessmen (typically weeknights) and I can go with the party crowd (typically Fri/Sat nights). Some girls hate night shift. There are more girls, it's usually higher fees, and more competition....or they have stuff going on at night or kids in daycare, etc. and can't work nights.

Days are more for girls that like retired guys, regulars (I don't) and businessmen on lunchbreaks. I know you are doing days, but sorry...days suck unless you have regulars. I don't do day unless there is a special event (like sports).

All else being equal, I try not to work after holiday weekends either, but Columbus Day isn't really a big holiday. Only postal, bank and school employees get it off.

Friday days before a holiday weekend are great not just because of a good mood, but because many customers will get out of work early, then they go to the SCs to get a jump on their weekend. Sat, Sun & Mon over holiday weekend's are dead as customers usually have family commitments, other projects, or other activities planned. Although the Fri leading up to a holiday weekend is good, in general you shouldn't bother working on the actual holiday.

Yeah, I really didn't consider Columbus Day a three day weekend with the early Fri day effect, but I guess that's just because I had to work Mon and I didn't get to leave early on Friday. Heh.

Here are dates for you to keep in mind till the end of the year:

Sun 11/12/06: Patriot's home game vs. the Jets at 1:00PM

Wed 11/22/06: Day before Thanksgiving. Guys getting out early to start the holiday weekend. The rest of that weekend except for Sun is completely hit or miss. LOL - your club usually opens late for on Thanksgiving. I have no idea why they bother.

Sun 11/26/06: Patriot's home game vs. the Bears at 1:00PM (And some guys might be starting to get a little stir crazy after the holiday weekend)

Sun 12/3/06: Patriot's home game vs. Lions at 1:00PM

Sun 12/17/06: Patriot's home game vs. Texans at 1:00PM

Fri 12/22/06: x-mas is on a Monday so it will basically have the 3-day weekend effect

Fri 12/29/06: New years is also on a Monday, so same as above.

Mon 12/31/06 (Night): Your club actually gets pretty busy on New Year's eve after about 10:00PM. Just something to think about if your schedule permits.

(Note: I purposely did not inlcude games that start late as most of the football crowd comes in after the games. The club is usually fairly quiet during the game, and late starts mean the game gets out too late for the guys to want to go to the SC afterwards.)

Another thing to keep in mind for your club in particular is bad weather. Snow is death on the night shift, but sometimes actually helps the day shift out as it brings in all the out door work crews who can't do much in bad weather conditions.

    Best of luck!

eh, this is usually a waste of time. It's all stupid amateurs and their bitchy girlfriends. Enjoy the night with your friends and family.

but generally, after football games (and hockey and basketball) are good. And the Wed before Thanksgiving. The Friday-Sun after Thanksgiving can be okay because there are a lot of guys in town that normally wouldn't be there and they want to get away from their family or go out with guy family/friends that they haven't seen in awhile. And there's not that many girls. I wouldn't write off Thanksgiving week.

also, snow is not necessarily bad because lots of girls can't/won't come in, but the guys are bored. If the club is walking distance to residential areas, then you will get foot traffic. People might have been homebound all day and be bored. Some of my best nights have been during horrible weather. The guys that do come out are hard core SCJs.

Sorry to post again, but as Emily said, working days can be rough without any regulars. I know it's been suggested in other threads to work nights. However, rather than just suggest working nights just for the sake of trying a different shift, you may consider want to doing it a few times to help cultivate some day time regs.

When I first met this one dancer it was during a very busy Fri night. She was really cool, so I asked what her schedule was for a return visit. She told me that it would be best to come and see her on Sun Days.

She would work a few busy nights here and there to help fill in her day shifts with regulars. She worked other shifts, but when she gave me that particular shift it was in an attempt to fill in what would normally be a slow shift. Eventually when I became her regular, I always visited during her during a Sun day shift. ...

Lol - I'd overhear her talking to customers from time to time and after finnishing up a dance she'd say "thank you" and then let them know what shift they should return on if they wanted to come back to see her.

Oh no I'm sorry your advise was great!!! V has commented on every post of mine giving me specific advise for my club because its one of his most visited in the area. I was thanking him for all the advise on all threads and the fact he wrote up all those dates (with patriots games)

I just finally told him how I really want to meet him!

I never even thought of the friday before a three day weekend before, great idea! I hate fridays in general, it's amature night at the club I'm at and ... blah! But I would love to come in a friday night, have a great night, then take that same three day weekend with my boys.

Yah, Tues night was SO SO SO bad, and I had no idea monday was a holiday, it all makes sense now, had I known, I would have stayed home.

oh, and Emily, I thought you had some great points! heh.

I'm a day girl. I agree, there is a definite difference between both the crowd/dancers who are there/working compared to nightshift *imo*.

I find the day guys to be mature, less touchy/grabby, easier to talk to, wealthier *lol*, and more generous, esp. when it comes to drinks and food. Almost all the guys that I sit with offer to buy me lunch and the such.

For lack of better words, the dayshift (for me) always has less drama and bullshit.

And not to be arrogant/cocky or whatever, but I take really good care of myself and look as hot as possible for the day shift, wheras I think most of the girls don't. So, I rarely have to ask for a dance. "Diamond in the rough" kind of thing, I guess...

Give it a try. It's a lot harder to stand out, get regulars, and actually enjoy talking to custys when working nights compared to days. Hope this helps.
