During thanksgiving make choices like lean turkey, veggies, cranberries, etc, so you can still eat with the family but not gain a ton. For halloween, either not give out candy or maybe have someone else do it for you if possible, so you don't even have to handle it and be tempted. If you have to, get some of those snack sized candies and have one or two.

I am not an expert on this, as I am a sugar addict myself. However it is possible to not gain weight during the holidays. During the holiday's I try to workout more, especially cardio. I also do not derprive myself. I will allow myself to indulge a little, but I always make sure that I get right back on track the next day.

Halloween is my biggest downfall, I think this year I'll have my man hide the candy my daughter gets. As for the other holidays, I just let myself eat that one day...NO LEFTOVERS MOM!!! It's also hard because my birthday falls in the mix so going out to eat, cake all that stuff. But if you just let yourself have a normal holiday feast, one day every momth shouldn't be a problem.

Try to buy Halloween candy that you don't like. It helps.

Or you could give your excess halloween candy to the homeless.

This will be interesting. This is the first year I will be weighing in at 154 for the holidays. I'm hoping I keep it...though I'm pretty dedicated to my goals.

I think it just has to do with conviction and willingness. But the duality is that it is harder to stay active. If you're activity drops some people will move to food eat in its place.
