    Default Sports massage

What with all my working out lately, I am havin some aches & pains, especially in the hips/lower back/ham strings. I assume I am very tight in these regions because, even after months in yoga I still have trouble with the forward- and backward-bending positions.

So, where to find a good sports massage? And even if I found one, how often does one need to go?

Are you near Pheasant Run at all? I don't knnow if they do specificly sports masssages, but my ENTIRE family goes and has a "party weekend" at that hotel annually and they have a great spa. Assuming you're not looking for a happy ending ....

The optimum thing would be to get a massage weekly, if you can afford it. Look in the phone book/internet for upscale day spas if you are looking for a real massage without happy endings. Happy Ending Massages usually suck and are all about the ending. You need a real qualified therapist. Ask questions about what kind of training the therapist has and what techniques they use. If they don't have a solid answer, don't bother with them. I don't know if Chicago requires licensing, but if so, make sure your therapist is licensed. Ask for a sports massage when you call on the phone.

Also, the is a franchise chain called Massage Envy. I don't know if they have them in Chicago yet. If so, it would be a cheap alternative to the upscale spa. Also, massage schools give intern massages at extremely cheap rates. You could try that as well.

If you were in H-town I would obviously recommend the best - me. But since I cannot massage you from afar, feel free to PM me with any questions you may have.

Yea there is an Massage Envy in the chicago land area. I tried the one in Naperville. I did not enjoy myself much there! But I do like Urban Oaisis. It 's a real good day spa. They also do sports massage. I have not tried thier sports massage. But I did enjoy the Thai massage. I love thier tea. I love getting massages. Thats my weakness!

Thanks, all. Good ideas. I am also going to check for recommendations from my sparkling new gym.
