Should I be on Mel's diner or Laugh-in?

Okay, I was doing my make-up in the dressing room, and another dancer that always has gorgeous make-up starts laughing!

So of course, my nosy-ass is like "what"? She's like "oh nothing, I remember when I used to use pencil to do my eyebrows"! giggle, giggle!

BITCH!!! Now, I don't look like the Carver on nip/Tuck when I do my eyebrows or anything, so I was really embarrassed! My shit looks good! I get compliments o'plenty!

I really like this girl too, she's always pissin' somebody off, and I always stick up for her when people make fun of her for saying "mices" and "askes a question" etc.

So anyway, I need to "askes" a question: am I the only person that uses pencil on their eyebrows anymore, am I "old school"?????

    Honesty & critisism are welcome

You mean to accent them or straight up draw on eyebrows? I pencil in mine a tad to accent them, cause they're thin.

I use pencil, the twist up kind though not the kind you have to sharpen. Not that it makes a difference. Who knows, maybe she`s just jealous and wanted to come up with something to critisize. I have had it happen to me alot lately, with the latest comment being that i need to cut my hair????

Yeah, just to accent them. I have eyebrows, get them waxed/shaped etc. The pencil makes them stand out cuz mine are thin too!

Still using a pencil. I just use it to fill mine in and darken them a little.

I use eyebrow pencil too just to darken the a touch. I apply it with a brush though that hardly matters.

As opposed to using what? Brow powder? Yeah pencils are sooo yesterday.. *rolls eyes*

We're not talking some big technological advancement.. nor about a fashion trend. Do what works for you.

Geez, its not like you were wearing scrunchy leg warmers or something.. ugh

I use a pencil. My brows are so light since Im a blonde, and for some reason, every women in my family has really thin brows. My aunt actually got hers tattooed on. So if I dont pencil mine in, it looks like I dont have any. Brow powder does not work for me.

well, are you using a pencil to draw in a line? The hard eyebrow look is out (even though lots of women do it)...full and groomed is in. But I think you can get that look with a pencil. i find it easier with a brush and powder (plus stencils because I'm kind of challenged here too) like this kit that I have:

    and this is helpful too:

nah Em, no drag queen line, lol. Powder doesn't stay for me, I glisten (prespire) too much, and I've wiped a powder-enhanced brow clean off due to sweat b4!

Mast, you are the shittiest! That's the superlative of "THE SHIT"!!!!

well, that kit comes with a pomade too, so it's like a colored wax. Then I use a brow gel to set it in place. it doesn't move and it doesn't come off.

I think your brows look fine, but I'm always willing to listen to girls that know makeup because I'm not that good at it. She didn't have to be such a snot about it though

I used to have the "golden arches"... if you know what I mean. Ugh! I enlisted the help of professionals.

NO babe do what suits YOU!!! Don’t mind that bitch.

I am a makeup artist and nowadays most use a brow brush and brow/eye shadow powder or a brow kit (MAC have fabulous brow kit coming out next month btw) for professional makeup. The reason why is because pencil's are waxy and in photographs or on camera you may end up with a slight shine to the brows due to the flash and lighting, so powder is the preferred choice for a more subtle natural effect.

Use what ever you feel comfortable with. I tend to use a pencil to define my own brows because it is easy to grab and takes seconds for me, I can’t be arsed to define them with a brush/powder all the time.

Btw there is no such thing as "in" or "out". Trends are created by cosmetic companies just to sell products. For example they will tell you that pencils are out so instead of buying that $8 pencil you will purchase the kit which will cost you an extra $10-$15 and of course people buy in to it. Just remember that the magic is not always in the product but the application and technique and most importantly the end result.

    Seraya.

I use a pencil, and lightly feather it on over my own thin light brows until I get the color I want. That's realyl the trick, don't push hard with the pencil. Keep it sharpened but soften the tip with your fingers. Also, stroke the pencil against the grain of the brows for subtlety.

I use either a powder or the pencil. If I use pencil, and I apply to heavy I'll blend it out with a makeup brush so it isnt' so harsh.

Oh and Jayda, when you fill in your brows, are you using brown or black?? Please tell me you're using brown...

I think your brows look fine - if you're freinds with her she probably didn't expect to hurt your feelings and was just trying to make the point lightly, with humour, and had it fall really flat.

There is no right or wrong way to do your brows, if the end result looks good you did it right!
