    Default another stretch mark question

I have really bad ones that r about 2 years old. Like u can still see em through my dermablend. Is it 2 late 2 try n get ride of them? Like using mederma or cocoa butter. Or is it possible 2 get a tattoo of my own skin color over them?

Generally tattoos can not go over stretch marks, as the color has more of a tendency to bleed, so I doubt that would work very well. I've had stretch marks since I hit puberty at age 10 and I've just learned to deal with it. They're mostly tiny now, but it's still quite frustrating. sassysummer recently had the titan laser done on her tummy. It's primarily used to diminish any appearance of cellulite and what not, but I beleive it also helps stretch marks a bit. I was gonna see a dermatologist about it and get a consultation to see what can be done, but that won't be until maybe the beginning of next year.

It's not too late to improve them. I swear by PURE shea butter. You can find it here, www.carolsdaughter.com, and on Ebay sometimes.

I have old and new stretch marks. I am just all marked up!

I am using a combo of retin-a and shea butter. I haven't seen results yet, but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Surgeons told me that lasering the stretch marks is a waste of money.

Cocoa butter and shea butter are fucking AWESOME.. I had some and within three weeks I couldn't remember where they were! Just use twice daily. Yum.

Cin, there is no way in hell you're gonna be able to hold me accountable for a specific amount of time, lol

Seriously, since puberty? I have no personal knowledge cuz I only got a few after childbirth.

I do know that either way, pure shea butter is worth having regardless. It is a great moisturizer, especially in the cold months! I put it on after my pre-sauna shower. It makes me so soft, it lasts even after the post-sauna shower!!!

lillith, which kind did you use.... I've used palmers, but not for very long, I found it made me sticky ( that's the humid 5 million degree texas weather for you). Now I use only light weight moisturizers and I don't even dry off before I put them on, so the water thins it all out a bit.

Yup, I have some faint ones on my boobs, some on the sides of my arms (by my underarm area), and on the backs of my knees

I was really skinny as a child, then I got really thick between age 17-20 (from 120lbs-180lbs) and then I lost it again and maintained at 130lbs-140lbs from thereafter...

K, dragging up an older thread....

I've searched through some old posts..and have gotten a few good ideas, but I'm wondering if anyone can add to them.

I have stretch marks on my tummy, they are the light, silver almost and shiny kind. It's not so much the color that bothers me, but the visible texture.

I've tried that Sally's spray on legs stuff, it works okay but rubs off on clothing no matter how I apply it. I've been thinking about the Dermablend stuff but does it really stay on? ANY other suggestions out there for covering these damn things up?

I finally have my tummy as flat and sexy as I like it and I don't want to cover it up with skirts and mini dresses anymore....

The dermablend is great, but you will still be able to feel the texture. Also, I found that the dermablend darkened easily.

I have found nothing that covers them that doesn't glow in a blacklight.

YAY!!!! Okay, I tried this Color stay make-up....and guss what? It stayed!!! I bought several different colors and what I found to work the best is getting a color a shade lighter than my regular tummy color (my scars are lighter than my skin) because as it warms up the color itself darkens a bit. For very fair skin, with darker stretch marks, I still have no idea what you would do to cover them, but give it a shot....this foundation seems to have many tones to choose from and it lasted almost all night, I had re-apply only once during the night after many table dances and stages.

It's been a week now and I still think it's the best thing I have used so far. I exfoliate very well and DO NOT apply lotion to the area I am covering.

I use colorstay too. Although people still notice my stretch marks it helps a wee bit psycologically.

Sometime this year I will have to take pics and get them online. i purposely didn't get my belly button pierced when that was going around b/c I didn't want to draw attention to them.

    I used Stri-vectin.

I gained 100 lbs (NO, seriously) with my pregnancy. I'm only 5' nothin' to begin with and 115lbs pre preg. I'm now 105lbs. I had some serious DEEP stretchmarks, which are still there, but the stri-vectin definitly made them much better. It's expensive, but it was worth it too me. I had some funky pigmentation around my belly button, and my nipples were WAY darker than they ever had been before my pregnancy. The Stri-Vectin took that dark pigmentation right off too...

It made quite a difference to me. I'm also considering the Titan laser treatment that SassySummer had done. She looks even better in real life than in the pics she has up here! It did wonders for the belly!

    Update for the tummy here.....

I have been using pure cocoa butter, at least twice a day, and exfoliating my tummy just about every night. I tan twice a week in the super bed, and have upped my water intake TONS....I think all of this combined over time has helped huge, I don't really wear make up on my tummy anymore and the skin has a softer more even texture. It's definiatly not noticeable in the club lights...at all! YAY!
