Default Would a switcheroo be a bother to you?

So at work tonight I suddenly got so sick in a painful stomach way (it turns out I have an ulcer, and being in the midst of midterms, it gets really burny these days). It just hurt and try as I did to 'act' normal and sexy, it wasn't happening. I am no such stellar actress after all. I was not feeling great during the dances, and the customers could tell.

So unable to tough it out and unable to go home until 'after stage' (I'm new, and I don't blame them for being skeptical of my 'sickness' on a sunday night), I sat kinda hidden to the side. Well, wouldn't you know it, I kept getting approached for dances (murphy's law), even though I was literally hiding myself behind a half wall in a corner. But my pretty (and kinda similar looking, in a tallish young blonde way) friend was sitting with me, so rather than saying "uh...no, I can't dance for you...because...I have to go...soon" I said "uh, well I'm on stage real soon" or "oh, my ride's coming in like five minutes"..."but here's my friend!"

This happened maybe three times before I had to go, but all went with her and seemed okay with it. I can see how this would be a bad idea if it were a regular or something, but none of those guys had I met before tonight. The first two I spoke with earlier (before being sick), and the other guy tipped me on stage and said "can i have a dance?".

So question- would you be offended by a dancer doing this? Saying "no, but take her instead!!". Like, she's the same 'look' as me and probably prettier, so the harm no foul right? I just wonder if I am sometimes doing strange things and offending people (customers, other dancers, staff, etc) without knowing it. It just seemed like a better thing to do than say "no, no dance monsieur, sorry".

(ps- shout out to PR if you're reading this! Nothing against you obviously, I just wonder about 'stripper etiquette' sometimes)

I don't buy dances simply based on looks so I would probably decline the offer and wait until another time when you where feeling better.
I don't however think it's bad etiquitte to do what you did especialy where you where helping another lady earn some money.

...if i had wanted your friend then i would have asked for her on my own. Like yoda and Verfolgung say, its more than a look that makes a dancer interesting/hot. But us three have been around the block while a newbie customer may only care about a certian look, so who knows.

Personally, there is little that offends me in the world of Strip Clubs, because I dont take it or myself too seriously.

Like others, I dont base lapdances solely on looks, so if I felt I liked the way she looks AND her demeanor, then I would take you up on the offer. If I didnt, I would politely decline. And, I wouldnt be offended that it happened.

I'm a sit back and take it all in kind of a guy anyway. I adapt to the flow of the club. If I felt like I wanted a dance from you, and you didnt come around at one point, then I wouldnt have had the opportunity to ask you for a dance anyway.

Thanks guys. I will keep this perspective in mind for future. I may have underestimated what makes a dancer specially chosen, even when the customer interaction has been brief. Actually in future, I will probably hide in the changeroom if I feel sick again, because I feel like a lame-o jerk turning down dances no matter how I do it. It just felt to me like someone should at least be making money, and that customers should not be fully turned down if they are kind enough to ask for dances by their own initiative. But it makes sense to let them decide for themselves if they want a dance with someone else instead.

FWIW, if I asked you for a dance it's because something about you interests me. I wouldn't have a problem with you being honest and telling me that you aren't feeling well and maybe we could do it another time. I may be an anomaly but I would come back and seek you out at another time.

I have had recommendations from other dancers work out fantastically--well beyond my expectations--and other times it's been a complete disaster and waste of time and $40.

Our mileage may vary, pardon the pun.

It seems pretty harmless. I'd concider my state of mind if you pushing me off to someone else for any reason was bothersome. :/

There just could be so many reasons

I mean if I'm asking you to dance, go you. I can sit for HOURS and talk about ANYTHING to ANYONE...so I like to be approached,

however, if I'm turned down, I just quickly move the crosshairs....

I was in a club with CO once... he tipped a girl I think 10.00 to come dance for us just because I mentioned I thought she was cute and he was damned if I was going to leave RI without a single lapdance....

    alas... I did. A travesty.
