    Default Nightmares, stress and sleep.

For the last week I've fallen asleep late, woken every half hour to a nightmare and frantically checked the clock. I have nightmares about what I'm doing the next day. I repeat it, wake up, sleep again and repeat it, usually with different yet terrifying results. I'm going to a doctor today but I was wondering he anyone had any ideas as what's causing this.

I should mention I've capped at four hours of sleep in one night this last week because of this.

You're not snacking on cheese before bead? It helps me sleep but it gives most people nightmares.

    I haven't eaten cheese for awhile. Last night's dinner was fried lamb and mashed potatoes. o.O; Night before was chicken and chips. Night before was pasta. O.o;;

    ---

Pharmacist said I needed to go to the doctor but I don't get in for three more hours. Said it sounds like I'm having panic attacks in my sleep.

    ----

I keep dreaming that I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing when I wake up. Suddenly I bolt up and freak out that I'm late and check the time.

Every instance it happens it seems to be about time and work and being late.

I think I'm working too much.

Do you have really full days planned? I sometimes get like this...anxiety attacks that wake me up. Try making a list before you go to bed so that your mind knows that you have everything together for the next day.

It could just be stress induced.

Try drinking tea. We have a tea that has a mineral in it that is depleted during stress...and damn it if I cannot remember what it is. I'll post this and then go down and look. Give my huge pregnant ass a few minutes to come back. LOL

Each time it's happened it HAS been a working day. Yesterday I kept waking up because in my nightmare I missed my flight. It was because I couldn't find a shirt WAKE UP. Because I woke up late WAKE UP.

Honestly, I think I might be taking on too much work. I have work for FOUR companies by Sunday!

I have a fear of declining people even if I had something (personally) planned that day. I've been cancelling movies with my boy to do work.

We owe his father 2k for lending me money to get my visa though, so he understands me working more. He worked a full day yesterday, too.

Last night the panick was over being late for my FIVE PM show in the SAME HOTEL I'M AT. WTF??!! I couldn't be late if I WOKE UP at 5pm and sure as hell someone would knock on my door before then! I woke up at 5am fearing I'd be late for 5pm.

    Fucking stress, what the??

I'm making a lot of money so I -really- can't complain but I think it's getting to me.

    ----

And lucky for me there's a store next door and a tea kettle in my room, thanks Venus.

Ps: I sent you a PM saying I lost your address but you never replied. Send it again so you can get chocolate? (I also got you other presents because I felt bad for losing your address).

The mineral is Magnesium. Joe drank the "tea" with magnesium in it and slept much better. So, maybe try that.

You sent me a PM? Hmmm...let me go back and check...otherwise I'll just send you my address again. You didn't need to buy more stuff. The chocolate was good enough!

LM, you need to calm down girl! I'm sure his Dad doesn't expect you to pay him back in a week honey, lol!

Make sure you take time to do things for yourself, with or without your man. Running yourself ragged will only make your stress worse. And you run the risk of burnout as well.

Try the tea, as VG suggested. Work hard, but take time off once in awhile. Get everything ready for the next day on the evening before and breathe!!!

Monday my boy and I made plans for dinner and a play, no working, nothing. Hopefully that'll help. Doctor in twenty minutes anyway.

Cammomile tea is good. I think it has calcium though - possibly both minerals.
Alternativly you can take magnesium or calcium and magnesium suppliments to help get a restful and relaxed nights sleep. Heaps of people in Australia are deficient in magnesium because there is none in the soil here!
Valarian tea is also good - its where valium comes from but natural without all the nasty effects vallium has.

Thanks. The doctor was skeptical of me and only gave me seven sleeping pills and told me to go to my doctor back in Brisbane. Seven sleeping pills, sixty five dollars. Great. Should've just gotten magnesium. That was probably the issue all along since I moved.

I have an all meat meal before bed. The triptophan knocks me out all night.

I never thought of that! I'm gonna try it myself with some turkey. That's a good one!

Yeah, I nearly spent $20 on a bottle of it this summer. I had BAD insomnia because I was doing 10 hour shifts from 8pm to 6am. Once the sun hit my eyes I couldn't sleep. I found out triptophan is in all meats so I really didn't need the supplements. Anybody who wants to try it will find there's no weird side effects. Good stuff.

What the fuck. I think this doctor gave me a placebo. I took the pill an hour ago and nothing. My boy told me that patients had to be notified if they were given a placebo in Aus, but he's been wrong before. I'm wikiing my meds and complaining if it is. I have a serious problem here and didn't pay for sugar!

Not a placebo, but it's supposed to work within fifteen minutes. I just found out this is the same stuff I took in America under a different name. That made me hallucinate. Ha! So I'm going to be high and still tired tomorrow. Fantastic. Bla.

Well, once I actually stood up, I became psycho sleepy girl hallucinating cats in her curtains. Anyway, I woke up at five again but only woke up every hour. I think the former has to do with the summer Aussie sun. WHY does it come up at, like, four AM? My body probably thinks it's later since it's so bright. Time for thicker curtains!

Fantastic! I woke up before the sun even rose this morning so it's not the sun! Nothing is helping.

I'm calling around about a sleep specialist.

I think I have sleep apnea or something.

The lack of sleep is starting to make me vomit.

First I will say that everyone is different, even with their dreams. But I get really nervous when I have a nightmare, because the nightmare comes true!!! Many of time the bad thing in my dream wouldn't happen in real life, but everything else would be the same. Not to freck anyone out: But I did have one nightmare over and over again same dream just different places and different way my family and I were to die, I dreamt this for at least 6 months, but the day finnilly came my sister and I had a funny feeling in our tummies that feeling you get when you know something bad is going to happen, well my dream finnally came true on that day, I lost my little sister, I went into a coma, my mother just broke an ankle but we don't speak to one another without fighing over that day. That has been 7 years this year next month, now I am having my nightmare's again about death when I sleep, I am so scared that another dream will come true and be bad. SO good luck with your dreams, may your best dreams come true with good results
