it's stainless steel...the most slippery of all the pole metals. like the others said you need to clean it with rubbing alchohol. keep it in a spray bottle with the rag or towel nearby. you'll probably need to wipe it down every 5-10 minutes depending on how "sweaty" your hands get.

Xpole is chrome.. or did you get the titanium one?
You're probably not used to dancing on chrome. I find it a tad more slippery.

Summer, what is the best way to keep your powder coated poles clean? Should I use alcohol? what do you recommend? Thanks

    Hey GlamGirl.
I sometimes find that it helps to "wear in" the surface... Don't clean it for ages, then give it a good old clean up - I usually use Fairy Liquid (green washing up liquid for you US gals) on a wet cloth... then make sure you get all the foam off with a clean wet cloth, then dry it with a towel. - The fairy is also good to use on your hands to get the grease off, it works better if you dry your hands with a paper towel though (not sure why but it works for me!)
When I'm dancing I use a towel that's slightly damp with just water at one end, then dry it with the other end.

letting the pole stay a bit dirty seems to work well. the ones at clubs or studios are used so much that they get more grippy so try to use it heaps.
also i find that spraying strong hold hair spray on my hands works well

thanx so much, yea i kinda figured it might need "wearin" in.I just heard about the fairy liquid tip, makes sense when u think about it lol I think a lot of it is im quite scared that its gonna fall down too, ive been upside down on it a few times but i just keep slidin down...I'm scared that if i put a lot of pressure on it it will fall lol even tho 3 of my friends have been playin on it.

If you've put up your xpole right... It will NOT fall down. Just remember to tighten up all the joins/locking nut every so often.
I've seen some crazy stuff done on them... even 2 people at once!

Try mens shaving cream or gel...small amount on your hands or inside of your legs will allow for excellent grip. Not too much...less than a dime size will do! I use this method teaching. I have 4 Platinum Stages Superpoles, chrome as well...and have never had a problem!

I just got my fantasy pole from summer and it ROCKS!! Totally the right level of "stickyness"!!
