Default Ever throw a tip back?

I seen this one girl at a club I go to get handed a one dollar tip, look at it like WTF and throw it back in the guys face. The hand in my pocket on the $1 starts searching for a $5 and I give her a five when she gets to me. Anyone ever do this? I've never seen it before.

    Wow, it worked, I guess.

    No, I don't do that.

it happens up here often...guys will excahnge their CDN money into American $1s and tip with them, and some girls will ignore them. It was funny, once an American tipped a girl a dollar, and she said "oh, just a dollar?". He ripped it in half and said "50 cents". I laughed SO hard.

Only once..there was a group of guys who had been watching me my entire shift, but didn't want a dance. So when I get to the stage, of course they leave the stage BUT they watch me the entire time I'm up there. WTF. So the one dude out the group comes and sits at my stage. He doesn't tip me or anything....The last 2 seconds of my song he lays a $1 on the stage. I turned around and told him to keep it. They all looked at me shocked..but I'm sorry but I'm not going to be pressed for a freaking dollar.

Now for you Jay, with your experience, no I've never done that. I appreciate all tips from customers, except assholes.

Yes I have. But usually because the guy or girl did something rather than because of the denomination.

Yep, I had a jerk who was clutching a single dollar like it was his life savings, and he kept making the "spread" motion with his hands. I ignored him. And since he wasn't putting that dollar down (he was the only one sitting at the rail; it was late and most people were gone), I didn't take my clothes off. After my stage show, he kept clutching the dollar, whining that I didn't get naked and I didn't do what he TOLD me to do. Finally with an air of resentment, he put the dollar down, and I pushed it back and said, "No, hon, it looks like you need this much worse than I do."

I've seen other dancers toss back ones too, but always because the guy was being a dick. It's not about the denomination, it's about demonstrating that their little dollar doesn't give them the right to treat us poorly.

Nope, I took every fucking dollar. Even if they did the same thing they did to you Yek. I would snap back with a comment, throw them off, and take the buck from their hand! I'm not too proud for that dolla, it adds up.

not throwing it back per se, but there are a lot of stupid frat boys who like to hold out their dollar, then snatch it back when i go to take it...then hold it out again, then snatch it back, then hold it out again, then snatch it back...fuck, either give me the fucking dollar or don't!

I'm not about to waste my stage time sitting in front of this dumbass while he shows off for his buddies and makes me grab for his precious dollar five million times before he finally gives it to me. So now, if a guy starts playing that game, I'll roll my eyes, give him a little "aww look at the pathetic little boy" smile, and make that dismissive "pshaw, forget it" motion with my hand...and get back up and keep dancing for the rest of the guys who are sitting there and actually want to tip me!

9 times out of 10, my reaction gets all the other guys at the tip rail to crack up laughing, and they usually tip me more to make up for the jerk

Yeah..I've thrown it back...but like most have said it was because the person did something to piss me off not because of the amount.

^^^Oh yeah - not for the amount - tipping is $20 in Australia. if someone tips less I'll keep it for bar money. I am generally good with rude people too, so someone has to be pretty shitful if I throw $ back.

I only did it once. A customer sent me an e-mail saying I led him on and should've loved him, etc. He came in to apologize but I didn't 'see' him or his dollars.

I've seen a girl light money on fire before. It gets the point across-to EVERYONE in the bar. Pretty funny but I don't recommend it unless you know mgmt won't flip about it. The same girl also ripped money up into little tiny pieces... She's a trip; but don't catch her on a bad day.

Heh, I ripped a $5 in half because the guy was a creepy assaultive dweeb. That's all you need to know.
Lady Gwen has a funny story about literally "throwing" a "tip"...but I'll let her share it.

I've never thrown one back...but I don't get tipped that often either. Here they do five dollar tips where they lie on stage and expect varying amounts of whatever in order to give the five. I...take it from them with my boobs and that's about it. I've had complaints like "that's it?" and I"ve had jerks refuse to let go of the filthy bill (that they hold in their teeth!). One guy did that, and he was SUCH an asshole about the whole thing that I pinched his nose so he'd hafta open his mouth, and grabbed the five as I moved off him. I've had more obnoxiousness from women with tipping...I'm not gonna suck any girls nipples or whatever for five dollars
(some think it just standard to undress and molest the female tippers?) . And they get so mad when I'm 'lame' about it. But I still take the damn money. Fuck em.

sometimes customers would try to touch me with the money since, you know, they can't touch with their hands. or they'd hold out several dollars and try to sneak a touch onstage. or they would be otherwise rude in some manner about tipping (wadded up ones and such). i would leave the stage with their tips lying there or throw them on the ground or at the guys. especially the wadded up money. sometimes the girl following would rush after, saying it was my money. i was like, they were rude, feel free to consider that a tip from me courtesy of them, because i could live without that handful of ones.

there is something about rejecting rude stage moneys that can inspire spendy customers to shell out to prove they are much more gentlemanly and respectful, go figure.

i've thrown a tip back at a guy before, but only in situations where you get a complete asshole who throws half a tipping dollar at you and says something like "that's all you're worth". i just throw it back in his face and make some smartass comment about him not being able to afford me or whatever. but yeah, the only time i don't accept tips is if they're being nasty or just being pigs.

Here in Austin it's normal for girls to do a little bit of a show when guys tip the stage. Personally I think some girls go overboard -- you're going to hump somebody's face for one dollar? -- but it's the custom. I remember one guy clearly didn't think I was doing enough to earn his dollar, and pulled it back and demanded I go on dancing. I humored him, but the second time he pulled back and demanded more, I just walked away and danced for someone else.

Yep. I have done it many times and I am sure I'll do it plenty more before I quit. 1) I don't need $1 that bad, and 2) no amount of money gives anyone the right to treat me like shit.

I once left $40 lying on the floor at my feet because the guys had pissed me off so badly. His friend had dragged me away from another customer that I was JUST about to sit down with, across the room to do a dance, then didn't have the $10 to pay for it, and his friends ignored when he asked them for the money. So I got pissed off and shoved the guy (almost knocked his drunk ass over a table, LOL) and screamed at him not to EVER waste my fucking time like that again, and stormed off. He and his friends were little wannabe thug types acting like big ballers, so they were suitably shamed and embarrassed by my reaction. I walked away and bitched to the manager, and then went on to other customers on the other side of the room. As I was walking by the little jerkoffs to get to the dressing room later, the ringleader threw $40 at me, and then the one who'd gotten the dance earlier "warned" me that he'd beat my ass if I did something like that again. I looked at both of them like I could kill them, stepped over the $40 and went on to the dressing room to freshen up. I guess they told the manager I wouldn't take their money, because he came back there in a few minutes with the $40, begging me to take it, and I was so pissed off I STILL bitched at him about what assholes they were. He just kept asking me to pleeeeeeaaasse take the money, so I finally took it and thanked him all pissed off still. So I got to prove my point to the little fuckers, AND I got $40 for the one $10 dance. LOL
I considered the extra $30 a tip for my trouble

the only time i "throw back" tips is when a guy says "that's all i get???" after i do some moves for him. i'll be like "you DID realize you gave me a DOLLAR right?" and then i'll rip it up and tell him i don't need it that badly. i've also handed it back and said "looks like you need this more than me, you better keep it" but only if they're being rude.

I've thrown it back when they ball it up and throw it--at one club, the guys thought it was funny to tear a dollar up, ball up the pieces and throw them on the stage.
Another guy tacked a dollar on my asscrack--with chewing gum...yuck.

Re: The funny story Madmaxine mentioned. There were a group of 4 coked-up men sitting at a table. They were sitting directly under a blacklight...so I could see the white imprents on their face (Coke fingerprints on both nosterals...real winners, ha, ha!) So as the night progressed they got more unplesant. They were hasseling me. To make a long story short, one guy tried to tip me on stage with his car keys "But I have a BMW he said" "I don't want your car! I'm on a freak'in island. So what am I going to do with your car...drive it into the ocean to get it back to the states." He threw his keys at me on the stage, so I threw them back. Later on that night, while the floors were being cleaned the bouncer asked me "what is this?" It was the antitheft devise that had broke off the keychain. I'ts a computer chip you have to have to start the car. I stompped on it and threw it in the garbage can. The next morning his car was still sitting in the parkinglot ....OOPS...Ha Ha.

I just took it off and gave it back to him and told him he's disgusting. I should have stuck it on his forehead. Whats even more asinine was that he tried to tip me with it again and was screaming, "take it off!"

I also dont accept tips from customer's mouths--why on earth would you put $ in your mouth? I've also seen dancers take tips with thier mouths, sheesh.
