Default ...so finally on the pole bandwagon

I think I suck on stage, and so to ameliorate what I do up there, I bought one of sassysummer's poles.

Here are my various attempts to push the camera button on my computer and then run and jump up doing whatever it is I've managed to teach myself in the last week...

...and I'm also bruise-zilla. It's even more purplely in person.

The good news is the bruises go away with more experience...

I never bruised anymore after a few months of frequent practice.

I bruised a rib doing one trick--and had no clue how I'd injured it until I tried the same trick again, lol--it was instantly apparent!

That took a while to go away, but it's never happened again, either.

Obviously you are doing very well, and nothing beats having a pole in your house to practice on. Which now that I think of it, has got me looking at the rafters in my new place to see if it'll work...

i'm considering getting a pole to practice on. however, i live in a small condominium with a stucco-type ceiling. and the entire flooring except the kitchen is carpeted. will that work?

What is a stucco type ceiling??
    Is it an even ceiling?
Are you going to get one that needs to be drilled into the ceiling?

^^I know you can put poles on carpet, but I don't know about the stucco ceiling. My apartment isn't very big, so it's a bit of an issue wherever I put the pole...I still hit my foot sometimes, but there isn't much I can do until I buy a house or something...

...and I just discovered that this crazy mac also has a built in recorder, so I'll try to get a sorry-ass pole video up as soon as I finish this essay (that I've been spending all day not doing by coming on SW instead...incorrigible procrastinator that I am)

its out of commision because the top cap popped off and won't go back on. :-(. soooo frusterating!! not saying anything bad about summer -- i think it was a defect or something. Summer has been working to get me a new cap and bolt for about a month now. anyway like i said its great when its up. pm me if you have any questions!!

I have stucco ceiling and I'm expecting my pole to go up fine...it might wear the stucco down a bit, but oh well.

Hmm. Kind of worrisome. Summer, do you offer a warranty of some sort?

A month to get a new cap? Why so long? Does your manufacturer sell the caps separately? I know he probably doesn't want to , because then people would just buy the caps and get their own poles cut at the hardware store , but if they're breaking, he really should...

Djoser's post reminded me of something funny! My brother can do pole tricks- he was doing them on the clothesline pole in the back yard. I was laughing my ass off.

I'm going to make my own ghettofab home-made pole, since I'm a big cheapo..

i honestly can't tell you why it took so long.. i guess its really not her fault..more the manufactuer's (as apparently she's been trying to get a hold of him for some time..) yes its frusterating and i wish i would of looked at her return policy before buying.

i checked out my living space for a good place to put a pole. there's a lot of furniture already in my bedroom (like a loft bed), so i don't think i'd be the best place for pole (but it does have mirrors).

the living room has the most space, but the problem is that not only is the ceiling stucco-textured, it's slanted, too! it has an incline.

is there a way to work around this problem to install a removable pole?

    I found a centipede

...So I had to stop the filming. I wish I could get the sound to upload onto to dropshots, because it's so much better with sound. GOD am I girl.

OOH I got the sound. PLEASE hear the sound (embarrassing as hell, but funny). I laughed at my own scream. I had no idea.
