    Default Surprise visitors

Does anybody else hate it when people stop over without calling first? I hate it when this happens to me! It always seems to happen when I'm showering, napping, or just wanting to be alone. I have one friend in particular who does this a lot. I told him to please call me before stopping over, but he still does it! It's hard for me to pretend I'm not home too, since my patio door and one of my windows are visible to everyone. You can tell whether or not my lights are on if you are outside. Is it so hard to pick up the phone first and see if it's a good time for someone to stop over? What if I'm in the middle of some great sex, for chrissake? Just a little rant!

Blondie I hate it too! I always call before I visit! I just learn to leave them knocking while I am screamin! It is better that way! Next time they will know to call first before they stop by!

Yea, when people do that to me I just dont answer. It hurts my heart to hear my friends/family calling my name from outside but shit I dont care..you shoud'lve called first. Plus, I'm a big time packrat so they have given me no time to straighten up. That's what really makes me mad!!

Shit I'd love some people to drop over. Just not before 11am especially when I'm off. Phone ahead and I'll start getting daquri's ready (virgin or sinful your choice).

I hardly get any visitors, so when I do get them (usually relatives), it usually means something is wrong...like they need money.

But I work graveyard and I'm a light sleeper, so I hate it when they call too.

That's why I seldom straighten up. (Even my parents insist on staying in a hotel).

I hate it as well. I will literally ignore my phone, even if they can hear it from outside, not answer the door, and ignore them. If they ask why I didn't answer, I say 'oops I was singing in the shower, must not have heard you, why didn't you call first then i woulda been ready?' They typically get the point. That, and before I tell anyone where I live, I threaten them with their lives..."DO NOT show up unannounce, I HAAATE it!!!"

I just moved 1100 miles away from everyone I know. If they are going to go to that much trouble to just "drop in"... I'll answer the door.

Thats why I always bring a bowling ball with me wherever I go. I use it to throw through people's windows to get their attention, just in case they are ignoring me.

Granted, I get funny looks on the street.

I notice the same pattern regarding the women in my life as the posting here. I notice there has to be vacuuming and little delights to eat for women hosting. So planning is a must. Guys are like "Just Stop By" and pretty much plant ourselves on the couch or in the yard or in the garage. Very improv.

Agreed with y'all. I can't imagine why anyone thinks it's okay to just show up unannounced.

I'd also add people who show up early for parties to the naughty list. I catered a party 2 weeks ago that was clearly scheduled to begin at nine, and from 8:00 on I had to maneuver around at least six surprise early arrivals who thought it was a lark to hang out in the kitchen as I rushed around tripping over them. I was on the verge of intentionally spilling a tray of screaming hot meatballs on someone . . .

I'm guessing because it happens frequently it becomes a distraction and problem because they could be interupting some great sex.

If it was once in a great while...would it be that bothersome?

I ask only because....I don't mind getting a friendly surprise once in a while. But if it's the same guy or girl doing it...that would be very annoying.

SO tell the guy to stop it.
