Thumbs up better than the last club -upper body excersize advice?

Today I went to "dance class" at the only club in the city that offers any training. I had previously been to another club for an interview, but it went pretty badly and in the end I didnt like the place (or the people). I posted about how incredibly discouraged I felt and how the interview went. I was about ready to crawl into the bathroom and slit my wrists.

So I got my new shoes and headed out to the club. There was one other girl who was there for class. She had no experience either. We actually found out that we live not even a block away from eachother. Yeah carpool!

The instructor was such a sweat heart. She answerd all of my stupid questions. She was really encouraging even when I know I wasnt getting some of the spins, but the other girl was. I just dont have the upper body strenght, and i dont trust myself yet. She says I have killer legs.

We got a tour of the club. I really liked it.

Class ended just a bit before the club opend. I got to talk with some of the girls, whyle they got all their makeup on. All of them were kind and friendly and supportive. I got such a good vibe there.

Next week we will do more pole work, and then move onto lap dances. Im really excited.

Does anyone have any excersizes to help me out with the arm strenght. Im gonna hit the gym tomorrow morning, but I have no idea what to do.

I just feel really good about this place, and altho it is a 20 min drive (1 hr skytrain ride for me) This is where I want to work, and I feel welcome!!

I think the best exercises to do for pole work would be to work on your biceps and triceps, and also shoulders. You get the strength to pull yourself up from your biceps, so maybe work this area more. I don't know the names of any exercises besides the Bicep Curl, but at most gyms in the weights area they have posters on the wall showing different exercises. Also, it's a good idea to work your abs (especially if you're going to go upside down and pull yourself back up). You use your abs much more than you would think doing pole work.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.
