Default How did you get started in the business?

I liked to go to SCs with my husband. Dancers would ask where I danced. I had never danced befor. Then my hubby talked me into entering a few bikini contests(which I won 2 of 3 entered). Then he talked me into entering a dance contest at a SC in Dallas, which I won (I was shocked).
Then I decided it was fun and started doing it regularly.
One night while on the main stage, a man came up and asked me if I did private parties. I told him I never had but would be willing to give it a try.

I did very well at it and decided to start my own business, Knight Moves.
    It has be quite successfull.

    That's my story.
Any of you girls want to share how you got started?

I was a starving college student who had good grades but couldn't find a decent job and didn't qualify for financial aide. I had to postpone my very last semester of college simply because I couldn't pay the tuition I already owed. At that point, it took me 6 whole weeks just to find a stupid retail job. It got to the point that I was living off high-interest credit cards. Then my shit job fired me for something trite. Then my mom used this as a basis to claim that I was "lazy" and told me to leave. Meanwhile, I owed student loans and backtuition. I'd already contemplated dancing a few years prior but never had the guts to go ahead and do it. At this point, I was desperate so I researched and mapped a few clubs(using stripclublist.com, my guy friends' advice, and simply visiting various clubs). One of the clubs that I went to required a cover charge so I fibbed by saying, "Uh, I'm here to audition" even though I knew I was too nervous to attempt such a thing. The bouncer led me back to the manager and I knew I had no looking back. The manager took a liking to me, felt bad for my money situation, hired me, and it all took off from there. I've been dancing for nearly 2yrs now. My financial situation has completed a 180.

For me it was a goal it was not money motivated at all It was something i had to do to proove to myself that I could do something i was afraid and to proove to myself that I was atteratice to ,men becuse my experinces in high school left me feeling like I had no sex appeale what so ever. I went to the club myself I have never been in a strip club before never even as a custy I just went in and winged it I became quite succesful by the end of my stay at my home club. Dancing is now my fav hobby I don't have time to it full time but I do it on and off every chance I get. My goal right now is to become a competive dancer or a feature.Dancing is one of my greatest personal achivements I don't reget for one moment I have learned so much about life it grew me up alot.

I've said my story many times before in similiar threads. The long and short of it:

I was working in Hospitality. Was bored with Hospitality. Was unemployed. Indy was next month. I started on the day of the Sept 11 attacks (which was Sept 12 for me). As for the private party work.. I started out with being a raffle and waitress girl for one agency.. eventually started to do shows at one pub locally... loved it... then made the decision to be a xxx showgirl ... and I love it.

Best move I made was to be a xxx showgirl. I get to be the performer I always wanted to be in the strip clubs (yet never really was able to have the real opportunity to be). I get be as raunchy, sassy, etc as I always wanted to be in the strip clubs and it's perfectly acceptable.

I also wanted to branch out from strip club dancing into this private party area of the business. So now I do the private party thing here at home, do shows in Darwin and work in the strip clubs whereever I am (usually Melbourne).

Well i thought about it ever since i turned 17...how empowering and liberating and ego boosting and exotic to be on stage , wearing sexy clothes, having every mans eyes in my room following my every move in awe. to be an actual sex goddess as a PROFESSION! it just was very intriguing and quite a fantasy for me! also thinking of the perfect music i could dance to.

i was sick of working minium wage, getting treated like shit, being bossed around, putting up with stupid customers(at least with dancing, if a guy is stupid, u can just walk away).

i wanted to save alot of $$$ to move out, get a car, college, and TRAVEL! how else can i get the money to do that at my age(19) with no fuckin education? i didnt wanna wait till i was 30 and rich enough to actualy do what i wanted.

sure, i get sick of talking to guys, having to turn down each guy who asks me to date him, having old touchy pervets, etc. but hey, its easy money, and i just use what i got (looks, personality). and its also a great workout! and where else can u get away with crazy slutty outfits and huge clear heels, hehe. its all part of the fun! so glad i started! im proud 2 say that im now a stripper hehe.

I wasn't old enough to get a real job without a parent's signature, and I knew people who hooked me up.

divorced ... young son to provide for ... stuck with ex-husband's credit card bills ... working overtime / weekends / holidays in hospital ER's (as a respiratory therapist) ... being perpetually tired + exposed to hospital germs led to my contracting TB from a patient and being 'sidelined' during 6 months of treatment ... huge debts piling up ... and a new strip club opens up !

I had two dancer friends who eventually got me into it (plus, I had bills to pay). I ended up loving it from day one.

A nice little string of circumstances.

Always loved dancing and attention + starting college + poor family + lofty life goals = Needed money.

Went to an amateur night, won it, and they offered me a job with the prize. I took it and the last 2 years are history.

I was a professional dancer. Near the end of a three month contract at Six Flags in San Antonio I developed tendonitis in my shoulder and was unable to continue dancing for a while. I came home to Phoenix and began physical therapy. I used up my savings pretty fast and was encouraged by my 2 best friends to check out Tiffany's Cabaret. After a couple months of fighting it, I gave in...been stripping ever since. Yes I healed up and did go do some more shows but that's a lot more work and a lot less pay. Yay for stripping.

Was a professional dominatrix and some girls I worked with were starting to strip. They were making more money than doing S&M and phased it out to only dance. I had always kept in touch with them. A few months later I lost a few of my good regulars and wanted to try something new. Called them up and they introduced me to the manager...

I did both for a few months, but after getting in a skirmish with the owner, I left. Then I danced for a few months on and off.

Took almost two years off and starting again now.

It was never about the money for me (was doing the S&M when first tried it, have a day job now whilst starting again, plus never did it full time or anything). It's a total power trip for me.

I was a waitress at a club, making shit money, could hardly afford to eat most days and having a hard time paying rent. I would sit there at the end of the night counting my quarters and loonies while watching the dancers count out their $20's and $100's and it was driving me crazy but I didnt have the nerve to give it a try. When the manager of the club asked me if i wanted to try dancing I said sure(after a lot of humming n hawing). The club paid for me to get my license and I started dancing. Then when I started trying other clubs I got asked by one club owner to be his house feature so I gave that a try, then with the help of SWs very own Scarlett I got into being a travelling show girl and now I just finished competing in Miss Nude Ontario where I got rookie of the year and im on my way to featuring at other clubs

There was a time where I wanted to be a professional dancer (stripping excluded). I tried out for a travelling troupe, but I wasn't going to be able to handle the crazy schedule. I envy you for the chance you had!

Was dancing for a vampire band in their stage show in the late 80's and working corporate during the day. One of the other vampire girls was a gogo dancer. Knew I was looking for a job where I could be home with my kids during the day and make good money at night. The rest is history.

Not money motivated either. I was fascinated by the idea for some reason.

My boyfriend at the time got a job bartending at nice strip club and I became jealous that he was around naked girls all night. So i decided to visit a few myself to see what went on one night and realized, hey I can do this too. And I've been doing it since.

Please remember I am Australian therefore things work very differently (to a certain point) with the way private party agencies operate. I say I'm a XXX Showgirl as I do vibe/toy shows at private parties (or can be booked for such shows) ... whereas someone who is just a "showgirl" only goes up to full nude specialty shows (strawberries and cream, bath show, etc - no insertion).

I work via agencies in S.E.Qld and work thru Honey Pot in Darwin.

It is not for everyone. As a XXX Showgirl you can also do (if you want to) greek/anal and/or fisting shows.

Making crap money and being treated like crap at a restaurant job... quit after three years after a bunch of drama went down... I always wanted to get into some naughty stuff since I had a way over-protected religious childhood so I started nude modeling online. That helped me get the balls to dance. I had plans to start with my friend but she pussied out so I just went in by myself and did it.

My ex (of 6 years) went to strip clubs a lot and it made me INSANELY jealous. I wanted to see if they were as bad as I suspected with him one night, and ended up falling in LOVE with how erotic and sensual and liberating the dancers looked performing. I was sold on the idea of becoming a stripper from the moment I saw the dancers. Money was secondary to me. It was the feeling of being raw, naked , uninhibited and having all eyes on me, that I craved.
