    This one is awesome: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FiYAvpwgiY

That sort of move isn't really my dance style, but I think with a decent sense of rhythm it could be accomplished rather easily.

one of the hardest things about learing stuff like this is realizing that it takes a lot more than just moving your ass to make it happen. watch all the "tic toc" youtube videos and pay attention to everything but the girls' butts. you're gonna have to use your shoulders, arms, abs, lower back, hips, knees AND feet to keep it going smoothly. put on some music, loosen up and dance in front of a mirror. that's the only way to correlate all the stuff that goes into making that one 'ass trick' possible.

Ha, and to think I didn't even know that was a dance...I just naturally know how to do that.

Hmmm when I do that I just use/move my hips/waist...not too much other movement because it can distract from the dance. My fam is from the islands, we learn stuff like that as kids.

I just can't figure out the movement. Is it up and down popping or front to back. I do have a decent rhythm definitely not the problem.Seems to be all hip. 4 beats. I just think its the coolest. How do you make a link to a video? I saved some good ones!

She was doing a combination of moves in that clip- but the 'tic toc' is moving your hips all around in a circular motion. But you can also do it back and forth/front to back like having sex. .

I dunno, I can dance like that, although I generally choose not to. I think it's like singing, something that can come naturally.

Holy Crap! The Tic Toc is the Tahitian Hula! Look up the Tahitian Hula and you can get the same moves. It looks like the dancers were doing both the female and male hula moves in those videos, but that is basically what it is.

Yeah, awesome workout that dance is!

Put on some dancehall music like Sean Paul. Just bend your knees as if you were about to jump. Lean to your right. Turn your torso. Then your left. Turn your torso. Then add your arms. The music will go 123,123,123,123. So you want to move right right, left left, right right, left left. You got it!

It should feel like walking on a stairmaster. Your legs and heels will go down down, switch feet down down. Hope that helped.

what i've noticed about white dancers (after 22 years of dancing), is that they generally dance as if they have a broom handle rammed up their ass, which goes the length of their spine. it's how they teach us... so it takes a while to get rid of the broom stick.

once you get rid of the need to have dead straight legs and 'good posture', isolating your hips and bottom half gets much easier.

look closely at those tahitian girls and you'll see there is very little movement from the waist up. once you learn how to move your bottom half independently, you can put your hips/ass wherever you want.

start with the basics. bend your knees and practise moving your whole pelvis independently (no shoulders or ribs going with it). imagine a clock face on the floor. you want to move your hips by themselves to different points on a clock face... having your hands on your hips while you learn it helps your brain to make the isolating connection.

    step one: isolate.
step two: isolate in time with music
step three: put your hips wherever you want, whenever you want.

naturally, if you have african/jamaican/island genes... you just do it like breathing... (jealous)

I so get that. Especially if you're a white dancer with ballet training. A fond memory: My Russian ballet teacher (she was way old school) reprimending me for working out too much and "ruining" my calves!! At 5'2" and 110 I was considered a "fat" ballet dancer

when i dance i tend to move my hips and "wind" alot, so my DJ never fails to play r kelly's "wind for me" on every one of my sets lol

i think most girls problems when it comes to learning this kind of dance is that theyre afraid of over doing it or afraid of not doing it perfect. i think the key is to almost over exxagerate your moves (ok dont take that the wrong way...more like emphasize) and really loosen your body. this dance cant be done good when your all worried about doing it right...sounds weird, but i think its true.

I'm not sure- but it's by Vybz Kartel I think. Perhaps Seraya would know better than me.

Just get into it, in this style of movement counts and directions are not going to give you authenticity because you are thinking about it too much. Just keep watching the video put on some reggae and feel it!! Create your own version.

Oh. You need a good laugh. You have to picture me thinking I got it and then using a hand held mirror to look over my shoulder at my ass in the floor length mirror. Wish I had a vid cam to record this. People on you tube would piss themselves!!!!!
