    Default Anger management

Seeking creative solutions. In my case, it's not so much "anger" lately as irritation and a feeling that, well, I'm roiling just under the surface. "Itching for a fight" would be one way to put it. (I blame work and a some recent stresses in my relationships for this.)

I've been working out nearly daily, not drinking, sleeping plenty, listening to music, eating out a bit, going to the movies, doing a few nice things for myself--such as buying new, nifty software and gadgets--cleaning my house (this always seems to help me) and getting set to hire contractors to upgrade some parts my newly-cleaned house.

    What do others do?

Maybe you need to go on a rampage this weekend, you know, let off some steam. You've been a good boy for too long, that's probably why you are feeling on the brink.

I could be wrong, you may need a shrink, but I'd go for the rampage.

Buy a punching bag. Take up a martial arts class. I wish I had found better ways to vent anger earlier.....the world is an angry enough place as it is...Good for you for wanting to be constructive in solving this problem.

I own an 80lb punching bag. But I need to buy new gloves, as the current ones are shot. Took TKD karate for 3 years back in college and just after. Little nervous about going back after all these years and, you know, getting my teeth kicked in by an over-zealous 14-year-old. But, maybe when I drop another 12-15lbs.

I found out that living in Chicago is very stressful. I talk now to someone about my anger. I get massages regularly! I also have lots of good sex! I find that it is very very important! I also do some setting aside!( thats when you clear your mind of negative stuff or what ever that is stressful).

It is what it is, not what you want it to become, that's important -- at least for now. Today, remember that things worth having are worth waiting for!

for my inner irritability and rage... i try to stop taking agitating things... like coffee, black tea and red bull. no booze helps with the coping mechanism.

i agree on taking a visit to the combat centre. get the shit kicked out of you - or kick it out of someone on your level. that ought to sort you out in no time. heh. best place for rage venting.
