Default She keeps scratching at it..

Not sure what section this should be in,

My kitty that I adopted 2 weeks ago had been scratching her neck because of a paper-plastic collar the shelter had on her, when we took it off at home she had a scab from scratching (& cutting herself) now she keeps scratching at it and it is bleeding again. The vet said to just leave it alone but I don't want her to hurt herself anymore. I trimed her nails but that doesn't help. I was thinking maybe a liquid bandaid? Is that safe for kitties?

I wouldnt use a liquid bandange because she can lick that off. Mabye just try to wrap it with a bandage.

you can also put plastic covers on her nails (they are totally safe for cats, even if they eat them)

^ We use Soft-Paws (claw covers) on all of our cats.

I also highly suggest using Emu Oil on the scratch. It's completely safe for kitties (or people) to ingest, (although that's not the idea behind it). I use it on myself and my kitten all the time. It heals things up SO much faster and helps reduce scarring.

I have 4 cats, and I think you should use peroxide on it, bec when my cat got declawed her paws kept bleeding and i dripped them in peroxide and it healed up in days. And when you see her doing that, stop her.

I second the Soft Paws. One of my friends used them for her self-destructive kitten. Worked wonders.

    Tell her she'll got blind.

Got me to stop for months before I decided I would just risk it.

    Hope she stops!

Yup, softpaws are the answer. We used to run a small no kill shelter back when we lived in FL. and used softpaws on occasion as needed. They are so cute too b/c it makes the cats look like their nails are done, lol.

    Bag Balm,

Will soften the healing scab. I tprobably itches like crazy since it is healing, and the kitten ain't gonna lick that off. Yech.

Oh and it is good for your own dry cracked skin too.
