    Default flossing! (not about g-strings)

Somehow the subject of flossing came up at lunch today, and it rather amazed me how many of my friends don't floss! To me, it is not something optional, anymore than wearing deodorant is optional.
Do you folks floss, and if so, how often? For me it's once or twice daily.

I do sometimes, but I hate it! I'm the kind of dork that always gets the floss stuck between my teeth and then I end up cutting my gums and stuff. Not fun.

Well, if any of you ladies decide to begin, Crest Glide floss is my fave! I use the Cool Mint flavor. It's easy to use (no cutting) and it gives this really fresh tingling feeling between your teeth. Yum.

Trust me, you are not the only one who does that Oh, and on the rare occasions I do floss, I bought those floss sticks. They are floss with like a toothpick like ending to them. Got them at Family Dollar. Wayyyy better then just regular floss for me.

Those have made flossing a little better, but it's still not topping my to-do list or anything.

    I do rinse daily, though.

I like the one that looks like it's made out of cotton. Gentle on the gums.

I'm a dental freak. I floss and brush al the time. I rinse with flouride. Even when I come home drunk ....I never skip my routine! I even nag my bf when he spends the night. I'm sure he thinks I'm crazy.

I didn't before I got all my dental work....

now I brush 2x a day, floss daily, mouthwash and mouthguard to sleep.

it's funny how $23,000 of dental work changes your perception of how valuable your teeth are.

i floss once a day. twice if i eat an orange or something like it. i always get a great report card from the dentist. tom's of maine floss in spearmint is my favorite.

if you hate flossing, start doing it because after awhile you will feel weird if you don't floss.

I like the thick wax cinnamon type. I used to keep it by my computer and I'd floss everyday just when I was reading a news article or what not.

Ergh-- I've caught some nasty-smelling breath from other people who didn't floss. And they didn't even know their breath reaked of rotting meat!!! Still gives me the heebie jeebies that i kissed one such person. NASTY!

    So FLOSS! ALL OF YOU!

I floss once a day. Don't drink pop (except club soda). Brush my teeth, on average, 3 times a day. Still have 10 000 cavities and have new ones every time I go to the dentist. Any dentist who tells you that bad teeth aren't genetic doesn't know what he is talking about.

I went to the dentist after not going for like 8 years, and he informed me that I had 9 cavities. "But... but... I floss and EVERYTHING" I whined. I'm still bitter.

Once a day. I usually do it first thing in the morning.

I'm like Jenny. Floss, brush, and still get damn cavities. My dentist told me that it has to do with the acidity of a person's saliva. The more acidic, the more cavities you'll get. Not a thing you can do about it.

I second that. I floss at least once and also use a floss pick after every meal and because I snack on nuts. (Those nuts can really get stuck in your teeth).

Also, I inherited bad teeth. I got work done because of an accident I was in. I get caviites from looking at sugar. I had my first porcelain crown about a month ago.

People's teeth help me make decisions about them. My most recent lover has a beautiful, healthy smile and he is adamant about his breath and teeth. I LOVE that!!

I'm the same way. But it would be worse if we didn't take care of our teeth

I hadn't been to the dentist since I was 11, (I am 24 by the way) and had 5 cavities. I was NOT very good at brushing my teeth for years either, so that was amazing. Heredity does play a role. Also eating a piece of cheese can help neutralize the acid in your mouth.

I had such a miserable time at my last cleaning- teas welling up in my eyes and everything. Now I make sure to floss daily. Sometimes after every meal. It's crazy how much junk is left in your mouth after brushing.

Okay so this is pretty gross...brush your teeth like you normally would, then after that, floss...all you non-flossers may be suprised just how much nasty is left between your teeth! In fact (here's the gross part) give the floss a sniff...the bacteria brushing alone leaves behind is rank! It's like working out, it becomes addictive, just force yourself to floss once a day for a week..and you won't want to stop.
