Default When you can't feel full...

Every now and then I get days where no matter what I eat, or how much I eat, I don't feel full. It usually only happens once a month, usually sometime around my period so I don't really care, I figure it's not a regular daily event so I just go with it. But it's happening for the past 2-3 days! (And no I'm not pregnant!). It started on the 3rd day of my period, and usually it'll happen for one day just before my period. I'm hoping it stops soon...but does anyone else experience this? Is there anything you can eat that finally makes you feel full?
I've tried fruit, vegetables, tuna, whole grain bread, brown rice, litres of water, you name it...
And I have a really bad craving for apple cinnamon bread too...:/

Your body is craving some fat!! You dance and workout. Treate yourself to that apple cinnamon bread dammit!!! Menstruation is tough enough on the body and nerves, give in to the urge, you don't have to eat the entire loaf!

Fat in moderation (good fat) and protein.

I agree with Katrine...eat the damn apple cinnamon bread. LOL...I was craving the Cinnamon Raisin bread from Panera the other day...and Joe brought it home...I put 6 slices in the toaster and ate them.

Hit the spot and haven't had any cravings since.

Sometimes you should just eat what you're craving and get it over with.

Personally, I just have a cigarette.

Now, I want soup in a bread bowl, and the closest Panera is in Pasadena, a 15 minute drive each way drive. Yarrrgh VG!

Well i've been eating the apple cinnamon bread, every morning for the past 5 days! but even after doing so, im not satisfied.

and it's mostly subsided now, but hunger wise, no matter what i had eaten, or how much, or how often, i just didn't feel full. i felt gross and bloated, but my stomach still felt empty.

    maybe i have worms...haha!

try eating a lot of protein, it doesn't bloat and it's the most filling. Bread fruit rice - the starches just keep you hungry

Multi vitamins and minerals! If your not getting enough from your food, you will feel hungry. Even people who eat well have this problem due to modern day agriculture messing up our food etc.
You could try a parasite cleanse also (-:

VG! You hit the nail on the head!
When I try to bitch and whine to my trainer about eating a cookie or _____ (insert junk) he just tells me.."Listen, eat! One damn cookie isnt going to kill you. Eat the whole sleeve of cookies if that will make the craving go away!"

Its really true like you said.

When you want it, just eat it. let it "hit the spot"!

but it's not just craving related. if i really want something, i'll have it. but there are days, and they seem to be increasing, where there isn't a particular craving, but an inability to feel full. i'll actually be full physically, i'll be bloated and incredibly uncomfortable, but it feels like my stomach is a bottomless pit and no matter what i do it's like...the message that i'm hungry continues to be sent to my brain. even if i wait half an hour - an hour after i eat...it just doesn't go away. so frustrating.

in the meantime, i just baked my own loaf of apple cinnamon bread

    Mia_bella,
I can relate to how you feel. I especially felt this way when I was on the pill and is why I no longer use birth control pills in preventing pregnancy. I still have those days now and then, though, where I don't feel like eating, psychologically, yet my stomach feels empty and I can eat something and try to satiate myself, yet it never feels like it really 'hit the spot'. On the contrary, when Im close to my period, I will have a direct craving for either salt or meat and my body will not relax until I eat one or the other. I just listen to that urge and usually my period will start shortly thereafter (weird how my body works like clockwork in that way, yet not satiate itself otherwise). Maybe talk to a nutritionist if it continues to make you uncomfortable?

Just my $0.02, but your body does need at least some healthy fat -- there are "essential fatty acids" just like there are "essential amino acids." And make sure that you're getting enough calories for your body weight and activity level; if you're dancing regularly, it may be much more than you thought.

Hmm that's a tough one. I heard something once that might help you- it's like, your sense of smell plays factors huge in eating to satisfaction. Which is supposedly why when you have a cold and are congested nothing tastes as good, because you can't smell it. So anyway, if you spend more time cooking you might feel better- the smells from it give your mind a jumpstart on the actual eating to follow. And you've already done this by baking the bread, so how did that work for ya?
