    Default Cash Diet

Alright so here is the deal... about six months ago my boyfriend of two years (who I was about to get engaged to) and I broke up because I found out he has been cheating on me the whole time... so after this I started getting really into the party scene and before I knew it I was going out with my friends at least 6 nights a week. So here I am six months later with an additional 30 pounds on me (if people say alcohol doesn't make you gain weight... they are wrong).
So anyway... I've been on somewhat of a crash diet for the last week (I'm not looking to get lectured on the negative effects of crash dieting so please don't respond to this if that's what you are going to do) and I've lost about 8 pounds already (I have to fit back into the brides maid dress I tried on six months ago).
I didn't know if anyone else ever used crash diets to get in shape... or if they had any really good ones?
As of right now I'm eating a low carb protein bar for breakfast and dinner and then having a salad for lunch.... and a ton of water.

After years of crash dieting I think I've permanently fucked my metabolism. I'm not going to tell you not to do it, god knows I still try, but only do it as long as you have to. Making it a daily thing will really ruin your system.

In the long run, crash diets are NOT effective. You essentially starve your body to get to where you want to be and then when you are where you want to be, you either have to keep starving your body...or you have to eat regularly...and gain it all back and then some.

Juice fasting is good for short term kick-starts...the Master Cleanse is good for a kick-start. Then, changing the diet to an EATING HABIT that is nutritionally complete...has the calories you need to function during the day (and I'm telling you that 1000 cals a day is not enough)...starting and sticking with an exercise regimine that you enjoy...these will all get you to the weight you want/can be at and you'll be able to sustain it.

Crash diets are bad. Change your lifestyle.

Crash diets work in the short term. No one will debate that. In the long term, they fuck your metabolism, among other things, making it harder to lose weight and maintain a weight loss over time. The lowest I would recommend would be 1200 calories a day, and even that's pushing it, considering how active most dancers are. You need to remember that your muscle mass needs feeding if you want your metabolism to stay high. If you want a (very) rough estimate of what your intake should be, go

As an aside, Scorpio, I love your sig. I think I've watched it 5 times now.

I appriciate your concern, but please take into consideration that I am not asking whether crash dieting is good or bad. I am a highly educated person and have researched all the effects of this on my own... which is why I asked people not to write stuff like, "change your lifestyle"... forms should not be for judging peoples lifestyles or their choices unless that is what they are asking you to do... which I clearly did not.

But thank you for mentioning juice fasting... I'm not trying to fast... I have to eat so I can study and work... just didn't know if other people had "short term" success with any specific crash diets that included food.

Protien shakes are far superior to bars.
