    What are 'lesbian fingers'?

My eyes were navy blue till I was 9 or so. Then they changed around, blues, grays, greens. Now I say I have green eyes, but it's the same as you, they're really blue and yellow, not green.

Mine are dark greyish blue, blue, and yellow, going from around pupil out.

It's common for people with light colored eyes to have a brown/gold shading as the color nears the iris. It's nothing to be freaked out about.

Even dark colored eyes often don't have the same color throughout- but with darker colors, a slight difference doesn't show up because there's less contrast. You have pretty eyes! I have dark brown eyes, and my eye color gets darker as it nars the iris, too.

In my college genetics classes, I learned that there is only ONE gene dictating eye color. The genes from the parents couple and create the eye color. Its hard to explain, but you can easily have one parent with DARK blue eyes and one parent with LIGHT blue eyes have a child with hazel green eyes.
That's been recently amended a few years ago. There are now 3 genes that dictate eye color. 2 of the gene pairs occur on chromosome pair 15, 1 occurs on chromosome pair 19. The bey 2 gene, on chromosome 15, has a brown and a blue allele. A second gene, located on chromosome 19 (the gey gene) has a blue and a green allele. A third gene, bey 1, located on chromosome 15, is a central brown eye color gene.

It's funny, as advanced as we are, there's still lots of things still to be discovered about the human body and genetics.

Eye color can also change with age (also disease and injury). It can become lighter or darker with age, and change from brown to grey or blue to hazel, etc.

Average female fingers have a ring and index finger of the same or similar lengths. When a baby is exposed to male hormones in the womb, it causes a masculinization of the fingers, making the ring finger longer than the index. This is normal for males. Gay men often have excessivly longer ring fingers, hinting at excess male androgens during fetal development as a possible cause for homosexuallity. Same goes for lesbians. My ring finger is significantly longer than the index, hence "lesbian fingers." I don't actually count myself as gay though, I'm more bi.

I don't know what to tell people my eye color is either. They are usually dark green with a light brown rim, but sometimes have a green rim. The rim makes people assume they are brown until they get really close.

CSI had an episode on a chimera but I think it had to do with twins in the fetus, where one dies and the other twin...like absorbed his DNA into his body or something. The main guy actually shined a black light onto the guy's back and there was this weird pattern that was typical of chimeras, supposedly.
but since you're a dancer, I'm thinking you would have noticed this under UV or black light or whatever. Probably not a chimera.

Molly, you might be interested to know, also, that there's a word in French for eyes like yours: les yeux paires. It describes blue-ish eyes that sometimes look green, sometimes blue, sometimes grey.

You can whip that little factoid out when you're across the river, lol

    I shouldn't even share this.....

but my ex had GORGEOUS multi-colored eyes. He was a sack of crap but his eyes were beautiful. Green with gold & amber flecking. Now I'm totally prejudiced against pretty-eyed people...I'm convinced they figure out how captivating their eyes are & use them to manipulate others. I'm on to you, Devil-Eyed people! LOL

My friend spent tons of money learning 3D animation about 8 years ago, but he took a job opportunity right after school for pay in a completely different field. He wants to go back to animation but the technology has changed so much that he's outdated and his expensive education is now almost worthless. Sometimes, technological advances suck.

Anyhoo, back on topic. I try to be open minded, but iridology is hokey to me. I had an iridologist tell me that there was no such thing as green eyes- that it was only polluted blue eyes, and once the people were back to their maximum health, their eyes would turn blue. Well, genetically, there is such thing as green eyes, so I'm not dissing all iridologists, but some of the things they say are unfounded and don't mesh with science.
