    Default Tipping for time

A female friend and I are planning on checking out some clubs next weekend, just sort of getting a feel for the place and figuring out if stripping it something we'd like to do. We probably won't buy any dances (and frankly, I can't afford to) but if we do want to talk to a stripper about her job for a while, we intend on tipping her for her time...but what are the guidelines for that? How much do you tip for how many minutes, and such?

This probably should go to the other side. You should probably just ask the girls over there, unless you have something to ask about a specific club.

Yeah, I wasn't really sure. Figured there might be some people over here who had done it, but if no one knows I'll ask again over there.

I've done so a number of times, though usually with dancers I already know. Sometimes it's a situation when I have time to stop at the club, but I need to return home soon without certain telltale odors. Sometimes, I have time for a visit and just wish to chat. I'll tip the cost of a private dance, but I'll get maybe 15 or 20 minutes of conversation before she needs to return to the stage.

Some places have tier priced dancer drinks where you can pay for the dancer's time that way. Often this amount pales in comparison to the per minute rate for doing lap dances.

In absense of this, I would suggest some fraction of the private dance price (say 20-50%). Obviously, if the club is busy or your gal is in demand, you'll have to aim for the higher end, or perhaps higher yet.

Since you are looking for education rather than entertainment, I'd try and go on a slow night..check out the number of cars in the lot. Buying a few drinks and tipping modestly might get you the info you are looking for. But remember the dancers are there to make a living. If its busy you will have to ante up their rate.

at least 1/2 the price of the dance, and that's if it's slow. just make sure to tip it to her within a reasonable ammount of time or she's probably going to leave the table. also, i would suggest buying at least 1 dance so you can get a feel for how the dances are done. don't go if you can't afford a couple drinks (keep in mind that they're usually pricey) and at least some money for tipping. if you don't have much to spend i suggest going during the day or on a slow week night. the girls will be much more inclined to chat with you when they don't have a bunch of possible customers sitting nearby. that doesn't mean you shouldn't tip, of course.

Penny...so if I buy a few dances and tip somewhere between half and three-quarters of your rate I can finagle some time with you You are an attractive woman which makes the ROI interesting to contemplate

Go to the club with at least $50-100 available. If you are seriously thinking of doing this..go on Amateur night...usually a Monday night of Wed. night. Chat with the manager, have a few drinks, and you may find yourself ON-STAGE. The drinks will calm your nerves, and it will probably be a slow night...stroke the egos of the dancers and they will tell you what you need to know.
