Deogol, you ruined it for me! The minute I saw that there was a fellow Hostel fan, I was going to mention the sequel. I loved that movie. BUT.....it definitely needed to be watched in a theater. I saw it at the theater and at home, but it just wasn't the same at home. The massive theater screen and sound really made the difference.

Anyways, I also like the SAW movies and can't wait to see this new one. I thought it came out today though, and not halloween. I won't be able to see it til next weekend, but I'm looking forward to it.

Omg. When I watched Saw I, I actually screamed in the movies. I couldn't watch. I don't know what's happened to me, I used to love horror gory movies, but as I've gotten older I can't stomach them. I had nightmares from that movie...

Then one night my boyfriend brought over Saw II, and wouldn't let me stop him from watching. I spent the whole time with a pillow over my head, but the screaming was enough to upset me!

Totally agree, Seraya! I was looking forward to its release on DVD for so long too.. Then I waited for a copy to be available on NetFlix. When I finally got it and watched it, I'd wished I hadn't wasted all that time waiting for it. Bleh!

I do love "Saw" and "Saw II" though. I especially loved the second one because of Donnie. Woot. But, I also adore Shawnee Smith, so I can't wait to see the third one.

    Default SAW 3...gulp...ugh!

I just went to see Saw 3...

Excellent ending plot. Good acting, cooler torture contraptions. A few new characters. I would say that it gave the whole trilogy phenom some dignity. (damn you, lord of the rings!)

    HOWEVER...

I never want to see that movie again. I like gory flicks but that is the first movie that made me put my hands over my eyes. The first two were nuts, but 3 made my stomach turn.

All I can think about is that poor doctor's exploded head--She was way too fucking hot to die in such an ugly way.

Yes, I know its not real..but DAMN that was nasty!

    Any thoughts?

Hostel was horrible..it insulted my intelligence--it could have been so much better--as the concept of the art gallery was unique. it was as if they had this cool idea---then ran out of money.LOL It was designed for horny little teenage boys. and there was so much gratutious nudity...sheesh.

Hostel 2? I will save my $10 and go buy some weed.

OK so I just made it back from the cinema.

Like Akasha I won't be seeing this movie again. One of those movies which is one time see.

The movie was good not better than the 1st imo but definitely the most disturbing out of the three. I don't want to say to much about it though, don't want to spoil it for the rest of you who plan on seeing it.

LOL I feel you! Also I totally agree with everything you wrote about hostel, maybe they did run out of money lol it was really low budget. The concept was good though.

I'll be making my way out to see this movie sometime soon....eventually. But a movie I am REALLY interested in seeing is called Grimm Love, and it is set for a limited US release in March 2007. It's an independent film based on Armin Meiwes (starring Keri Russell).

For those wondering who he is, he would be the cannibal in Germany that posted an internet ad looking for someone to eat. A man responded who wanted to be eaten, as well as wanting to eat his own penis prior to death. Even though they filmed it, and it showed the 'victim' stating this was his wish, the court found Mr Meiwes guilty of murder and he is currently serving life in prison.

Anyways, as opposed to many "loosely based on real events" movies out there, Grimm Love is SO based on reality that it is banned in Germany, for infringing on Mr Meiwes' privacy. Yes, I know, I am sick and twisted....but oh well. I LOVE movies like this.

There was also a very graphic non-fiction book written about this case:

I saw it & I'm still not sure. At times I thought it was pretty shocking but at other times I was a little bored. I really liked the first & thought the second was okay. I'm a big Hostel fan. I'll see Hostel 2 but I don't I'll like it as much.

I hated it. I hated the story line. Grousom, yes...but I thought the story sucked. I only liked 1 & 2. If there is going to be another one, 4,5,6,7,etc..not watching. I think the first two were good enough.

Well, I "saw" it and I liked it.

Left it wide open for a part four even with the ending as it was!

I know. But with the way it ended, I don't get how.

For anyone who saw it, explain it to me.

For a person like me who loves gory scary movies that make you want to pee your panties saw 3 was soooo gory! I cringed and at moments yet couldn't stop watching. I fell asleep in the middle of it b/c I was so tired from getting up early so I'll have to watch it again. I got to the operation part and can't remember much after that.
