    Default amateur night..and lost?

    Hi!
Has anyone done amateur night and LOST?
Were you offered a job anyways?

I am still contemplating whether or not to do amateur night. I hate competition. I had competed so much in pageants when I was younger....won some lost some, yada yada yada.

However, I understand from SW research, I could wear stuff I already own and not have to invest in other stuff (but a dancing thong). Right or wrong?

    Thanks!

My experience has been that where you finish in the Am Contest has little to do with your prospect for being offered a job.

In the clubs in my area, it's common for dancers who work at other clubs to go around and do various Am Nights as "supplemental income". Often times it's a seasoned dancer who wins the contest. However, most of the places I know of ask each of the girls if they are just competing or also auditioning. The mangers watch the girls who are audtioning and as long as they don't freeze up or do a deer in the healights, they'll get offered a job. Seen plenty of girls finish out of the money and be asked to stay and work.

(There are also some limited occasions where I know the club will fix it so a true am will win first, and then the verteran dancers can win the 2nd & 3rd place prizes and keep the stage tips they collect.)

    Best of luck!
If you can't win. Make the fellow in front of you break the record.

^^^ I agree. You usually don't have to win in order to be offered a job. And just because you win, doesn't mean you'll be offered a job either. I've seen amateur nights where the worst one out of the group won (because she brought a lot of friends with her to cheer for her) but she wasn't offered a job, while the girl who came in last place was. Good luck!
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.

Winning or losing the contest has nothing to do with getting hired. If you're the type the club wants they will offer you a job either way.

Some clubs use amateur night as an opportunity to audition new girls, just like they would any other time of the day. But with an amateur night they just pack them all together. Most of the time it is hardly a contest.

You might not even have to participate. Have you called the club you are interested in?

I've done a few amateur nights and lost all of them. Two of the contests were rigged and the girls that won were already employees there and the other contest disqualified me for looking to polished. They said that I was a professional and the contest was only for amateurs so I couldn't possibly win. I was never offered a job by any of these clubs because they weren't looking for any Black girls at the time. Thanks for nothing. Amateur nights to me are a complete waste of time. Girls get hired under the table all the time. I shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to get a job offer from a club that has shady practices to begin with.
