    Default Shoe Question

I want a new pair of shoes, and whichever pair I chose I need it in 3 colors, black, red and white patent. I currently have some 5.5" chunky heel with 1" platforms by Ellie that are pretty comfy but they are 9's and I think I would be better with an 8 since I've got a little room in the back of the shoe. I am looking at 2 types on Snaz75.com and was wondering if anyone here had a preference or recommendations on either pair. They are both 6" heels with (I'm assuming) 2" platforms.

Ellies - These look like pretty traditional "stripper shoes" to me.

Pleasers - These look like they have more room in the front and since they don't have anyone modeling them, I can't tell if that would be more or less comfortable.

These are the two pairs (Ellies) that I currently have and am used to wearing:

I am sort of leaning toward the second ones (the Pleasers) but they are more expensive and I do like the buckles on the Ellie shoes better, both the look of them and I think the thicker ones are more comfortable, though i am used to wearing the thinner ones. Suggestions??? Thanks!!!

I like the first pair better (the ellies). They do have a little less room in the front for your toes to peek out, but you can always stretch them out if you have any problems. I think they're cuter than the other pair.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.

I like the Ellies better too. Although the Pleasers may be more comfy.

If you have room at the back of the shoe in a 9, do you also have some room in the toe? Because if you don't, an 8 will likely be too tight on your toes. Those patent leather shoes don't have much give.

I would not order any dancer shoes until you go to some costume stores and try them on. Once you get a feel for how certain styles and brands fit you, then it would be ok to order.

Otherwise you may get shoes that are uncomfortable, and have to deal with the hassle of returns.

Many stores have dancer discounts, which may make the cost of your shoes comparable to what you pay on line.

Why do you think the Pleaser shoes would be more comfortable? I'm definatly interested in comfort. Being that they are almost $10 more expensive, is Pleaser a nicer brand? I have only worn Ellies before.

Pleaser and Ellie are equal quality. The Pleasers just look more comfy because it appears they have more room at the toe.

One thing though: The Pleasers have a platform that's more angular at the bottom - kinda turns sharply up at the tip. While the platform on the Ellies is more rounded on the bottom, the way most stripper shoes are. So if you do a lot of rolling on the ball of your shoes while dancing, the Pleasers may make it a bit less graceful.

I like the second pair. The first has large straps and the last two have a chunky heel. I personally don't care for a chunky heel, not really sexy IMO.

Yeah, the last 2 chunky heeled ones are the shoes that I already have. I like them and they are comfortable, but I do think less of a chunky heel is a bit more sexy myself, which is one of the reasons I want new shoes. How much harder do you think the thinner heels will be for me to manuever in? Like I said, I am used to the 5.5" chunky heels and am moving to the 6" square heels.

I don't think the thinner heels are that much harder to manuever in. You're only moving up a 1/2" in heel height and the heels on those shoes are not extremely pointy. You may need a little practice in them but I don't think it will be a big deal

I'm not a fan of the chunky heels either.
And I really don't like the platform part on the 2nd ones - it's too square.

I have some VERY similar ones to the first ones. They are also a "juliet" style from Ellie, but the heel has a circular x-section, they have a very small heel print too. I wear them a little too small for my feet, and the toe strap has stretched out quite a lot - They are so comfy now!
Although, small note: The ones with the black platform are actually white plastic coated in black - and it wears off quite easily. I just cover it up with black nail polish!

I just read another shoe thread and a few people agreed that Pleasers run a bit big and are great for girls with wide feet. Well, my size 9 Ellies are a little too big in the back and they don't make half sizes, and my feet are wide SO I am wondering, would size 8 Pleasers be my perfect Cinderella shoe? Does anyone else agree with Pleasers being a little bigger and wider? I really need to get out this weekend and try some on, maybe Friday night, because I am ITCHING to order some new shoes!
