    Angry Rubber tread on shoes!

I just ordered a pair of Pleasers, black slip-on platforms, and I like them, cute and all...

but they've got a layer of super-grippy rubber tread on the bottom, which I HATE and damn near cannot dance in, as I like to slip and slide around the stage.

Do any of y'all know if I can get this replaced by a shoe-repair store? I'd like to have it replaced to the non-rubber, flat bottom (I think Ellie shoes come this way- and am I right that most Pleasers come with the rubber on the bottom?...)

    Thanks!

Yes Pleasers come with rubber soles. So do Ellies, Karo, Tony Shoes and The Highest Heel. The only brand I know of that comes with the slick bottom (which I hate because it's too slippery) is Sunset Strip.

I am sure you could take them to a shoe repair shop and get the soles replaced. I see no reason why not. Unless of course they've got some weird thing against stripper shoes, which I've read some girls have experienced
At any rate, SOME repair shop will do it, if you just call around. Look for shoe repair in your local phone book or on a website like yellowpages.com.

Ugh- same as Aussi, I bring my shoes to a cobbler to get that shit filed down and REAL grip attached!

I like to stick to the stage. Otherwise I fall.

Dallas Heights have slick bottoms too. Every pair I've had needed to go in for a rubber sole.

A shoe repair shop should be able to do it rather inexpensive. I remember there was a time when pretty much all shoes came with the slick bottom, so I would take mine directly to the shop after buying them and get them fitted with rubber soles. I think it was under $20...

OMG I remember those shoes like 11 or 12 years ago, when stilletos with no platform were the thing. I HATED them, used to have grippies put on mine to. One night I was wearing a new pair and got up to walk backstage and wipedout so bad. I slid about 10 ft before I hit a table and fell. The whole club was staring. Got all my shoes resoled after that.

    I loved the grippy shoes.

I'm blonde and Polish hence the slippery shoes spelled death for me.

Lady Studio Shoes have rubber that isn't quite so grippy, too, so you don't slide when you don't mean to, but can still glide around if you wish...I like to be able to glide too, and I've never had a problem with their soles

Wow, never realized I was such a minority in slidin'! But our stage setup is different than most clubs- we have overhead poles as well as vert ones, so we hold on overhead and can spin and slide around the stage if we choose. Haven't slipped and fell or even come close to it at all yet *knock knock*...

I actually own a pair of Ellies with slip bottoms, and a pair of Highest Heel that have grip but are still very much "slidable".

Bridgette - I've had my eye on those red flower platforms for a minute, what are the soles on those like?

^^The flower shoes have the rubber treaded soles.

The Highest Heel shoes have a rubber sole that's less tready. So do Ellies. I have seen older Ellies with slick soles, but not their new ones...
